James Gunn Debunks Ongoing Chris Pratt Casting Rumors

James Gunn’s DCU is moving quickly. The production of ‘Superman’ is already halfway done, and casting for other projects is about to start. Recently, there’s been a lot of talk about two DCU projects: ‘Lanterns’ and ‘Booster Gold.’
Both shows have been in development for a long time. They were originally planned for different cinematic universes, but now under Gunn’s leadership, they are beginning to take shape.
Recently, Chris Pratt confirmed he will be appearing in both the MCU and the DCU, which didn’t surprise anyone. The last ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ movie hinted that Star-Lord would return, and since Gunn likes to work with the same actors, it was expected that Pratt would find a role in the DCU.
After his statement went viral, fans speculated that Pratt might be cast as either Booster Gold or Hal Jordan for the upcoming ‘Lanterns’ show.
Earlier this week, a casting call for ‘Lanterns’ was leaked. The studio is looking for white males between 43 and 49 years old to play Hal Jordan and black males between 27 and 35 years old to play John Stewart. The role of Guy Gardner has already been given to Nathan Fillion.
Given the age range, fans quickly assumed that Pratt got the role since he’s 44 years old.
However, James Gunn went on social media and debunked this, saying that casting hasn’t even started yet but is going well.
This doesn’t mean Pratt won’t eventually get the role, but for now, if you hear that Pratt is confirmed as DCU’s Hal Jordan, it’s not true. No one has been cast as Hal Jordan yet.
Gunn also debunked several other rumors about Wonder Woman casting, saying that DCU currently doesn’t have a Wonder Woman since the character hasn’t been cast yet.
