‘Superman’ is currently the most anticipated upcoming DCU project, even preceding the release of the Creature Commandos. After months of speculation and planning, James Gunn joyfully announced that ‘Superman’ had commenced principal photography on February 29th, coinciding with Superman’s birthday, in Svalbard, Norway’s Adventdalen Valley, chosen for its Arctic resemblance and natural beauty.

Regarding the cast, 90% of the lineup has been unveiled. David Corenswet stars as Clark Kent/Superman, with Michael Holt as Lex Luthor. Rachel Brosnahan portrays Lois Lane, and Isabela Merced plays Hawkgirl. Edi Gathegi takes on Mister Terrific, while Nathan Fillion embodies Guy Gardner/Green Lantern. Anthony Carrigan appears as Rex Mason/Metamorpho, María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica/Engineer, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, and Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord.

The main cast for the upcoming Superman reboot was finalized months ago, and today, it was revealed that the role of a significant supporting character has been filled. According to the Wrap, veteran actor Pruitt Taylor Vince will portray Jonathan Kent, Superman’s adoptive human father, who played a pivotal role in shaping his upbringing and nurturing his human qualities. It remains uncertain how Papa Kent will impact the story of the upcoming reboot.

Vince is set to star as a series regular in the upcoming Apple TV+ series ‘Lady in the Lake,’ alongside Natalie Portman, scheduled for release this summer. With extensive television experience including appearances in popular series like Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things’ and Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,’ Vince is no stranger to the fantasy genre. In film, he has featured prominently in Netflix’s ‘Birdbox’ alongside Sandra Bullock and ‘The Life and Death of John Gotti’ with John Travolta.
