The DCU is charging forward with an exciting lineup of new projects set for release soon. Fans can look forward to the first DCU project, ‘Creature Commandos,’ which premieres in less than two months.

The official kickoff of the DCU was recently highlighted at NYCC, with James Gunn promoting it across social media platforms.

Not much is known about the show’s plot, but it will center on the monstrous team of the same name. Following the U.S. Congress’s decision to halt all Task Force X operations, government operative Amanda Waller sought to assemble a new team composed of monstrous beings, as the exploitation of human prisoners was now illegal.

Waller appointed General Rick Flag, Sr. as the team’s leader and invited him to Belle Reve to meet his new teammates. Frank Grillo will reprise his role as Rick Flag Sr. in several live-action projects, including ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 and ‘Superman,’ as confirmed by set leaks.

James Gunn also revealed that ‘Creature Commandos’ will lead directly into Season 2 of ‘Peacemaker,’ further strengthening the connection between the two series.

Meanwhile, ‘Peacemaker’ is currently in production, with new dance sequences teased and some cast additions announced. John Cena recently shared a new helmet design on social media as well.

This seems to be the comically named “Scabies for All” Helmet, which Smith explained could infect everyone within a one-mile radius with scabies—except for the wearer.
