Choso is a powerful character from the Jujutsu Kaisen series and is the leader of the nine Cursed Womb: Death Paintings. He is, thus, a materialized cursed object who was initially a villain in the series before switching sides after realizing the truth. During the Shibuya Incident, Choso fought Yuji Itadori, and after an epic battle, he ultimately succeeded in defeating him, but he decided to spare his life. After that, he went through an existential crisis that resulted in him changing sides. He is an exceptionally interesting character; in that aspect, he certainly deserves to be analyzed and explored.

This list will include a total of the best 10 Choso quotes you need to know from the Jujutsu Kaisen anime and manga. The quotes are taken from various contexts and situations, and we have decided to list them here for you and also explain the context and the meaning a bit.

1. “When you get to the other side, be sure to ask for my brothers’ forgiveness.”

This was a line said to Yuji as the two of them were fighting in Shibuya. At this moment, Choso did not know that the two of them were related and saw in him only the murderer of his younger brothers, whom he wanted to kill out of revenge. This was an important moment in the series, especially in terms of analyzing Choso’s role.

2. “Whether they’re superior or inferior, older brothers are role models for their younger brothers. If the older brother takes the wrong path, the younger brothers can avoid it. And if I take the right path, my little brothers can follow behind. What if you’re strong because your older brothers are weak? You asked why I’m tough. I’ll tell you. It’s because I didn’t have someone to guide me, so I kept making mistakes.”

While he fought Naoya Zenin later in the series, Choso had this epic monologue on what it meant to be an older brother and what drove him to be so strong. His desire to protect his younger siblings was strong, and it pushed him forward, even under the most dire of circumstances. He was a powerful character, but his need to protect those he cared about made him even stronger.

3. “I have to go. Yuji Itadori, what are you? I have to know. And… what am I?”

Choso went through a major existential crisis once he understood that he was somehow related to Yuji. The visions were a significant issue for him, and while he was confused, he was aware that he had to find out the answer and explain what was happening, thereby discovering the truth about himself as well.

4. “And if I find him first, I’ll kill him… okay?”

This was an early Choso line said to Mahito as the cursers were splitting up in Shibuya. Some of them wanted to preserve Yuji’s life because of Sukuna, while others opted to kill him. At this point in time, Choso still wanted to kill him.

5. “You know what comes next. This is checkmate. (SUPERNOVA!) Sorry, but you don’t love your brothers… and I can’t understand that.”

Another major moment from Choso’s fight against Naoya Zenin, which proves what we’ve said in #2, above. Choso detested Naoya because of his relationship with his siblings, and that is why he got the strength to defeat him when they actually fought.

6. “Don’t die, okay?”

This was a really heartfelt moment, to be honest. Yuji, Yuta, and Megumi were going on their way to save Gojo, while Choso stayed behind with another task. Yuji and Choso had become friends by this moment, and when Yuji thanked Choso, with Choso saying the following words, it was a really great moment of development for both of them in the series.

7. “So what? Is that any reason not to put my life on the line for my little brother?”

When Choso arrived to face Pseudo-Geto in Shibuya, he confronted him with the truth, which Pseudo-Geto, actually Kenjaku, confirmed. Choso then stood in front of Yuji to protect him and fought Kenjaku. Kenjaku teased him that he should take it easy because he must be tired, but Choso then once again confirmed that he cared more about his siblings than himself by giving us this amazing quote!

8. “To avenge my brothers, I’ll kill Yuji Itadori and Nobara Kugisaki. Then I’ll head to Jujutsu High to retrieve the rest of my brothers.”

Another early Choso quite mixed in with the brotherly ones. But this one also shows how seriously he took his role as an older brother. When Yuji and Nobara killed his two younger brothers, he wanted to kill them immediately, and after that, he planned on taking his other brothers, still embryos, from the school. All of this was, once again, in line with his “older brother” role.

9. “Nonetheless, I must walk ahead of my younger brothers. That’s why I am strong.”

Another quote from his fight against Naoya, which contained many such moments. These moments were important because they showed Choso’s determination, even when he was faced with a tough and powerful opponent like Naoya. Choso stayed true to himself, and this quote illustrates it in the best way possible.

10. “Why don’t you try calling me big brother? Just once.”

This is a quote that anime fans will know well, as it could be heard recently. When Choso revealed to everyone that he was Yuji’s brother, he immediately started calling the boy “younger brother,” which Yuji did not take seriously then. So, in order to motivate him, Choso pleaded with him to call him “older brother” just once, which was the beginning of their bonging period.
