Throughout the series, Jujutsu Kaisen has introduced us to a series of intriguing and special characters. Some appear early in the story, while others appear later, at some other point. The anime is currently focused on the Shibuya Incident Arc, and that storyline will take us a bit back into Nobara Kugisaki’s past, revealing two important friends from her childhood. One of them is Saori, the older girl who moved from Tokyo to Nobara’s village and whose story we are going to present here. Saori did not appear much in the series, but in this article, you will find out what happened to her in the story.

  • Article Breakdown:
  • Saori is an older girl whose family moved from Tokyo to Nobara’s village and who became a close friend of Nobara’s. Due to being ostracized by the villagers, the family moved back to Tokyo.
  • She was a big influence on Nobara, who looked up to her both because she was older and came from the big city. She influenced Nobara in a very positive way.
  • Saori is still alive and leading a “boring life,” as she said. She often remembers Nobara and Fumi, thinking about where they are now.

Saori was Nobara’s childhood friend

Saori is a supporting character who played a very important role in Nobara’s childhood. The two of them were friends, and, as we are going to see, Saori had a very positive influence on Nobara when they hung out as children. Her story hasn’t been analyzed in detail, but we know about her past and present, which is enough for us to tell you what happened to her.

Saori and her family initially lived in Tokyo, but when Saori was in middle school, her family moved to Nobara’s village. The circumstances of them moving to the village have not been revealed, so we don’t know what happened. We know that Saori was happy and king, so we can assume that nothing bad happened to her family and that the relocation was practical. She attended the same school as Nobara and Fumi and soon became good friends with both girls.

Nobara was fascinated by Saori, and the two quickly became good friends friends. Fumi, Nobara’s other friend, was not left out, and the three of them would spend a lot of time together, although it was clear that Nobara looked up to Saori and that her friendship with Saori changed her and made her more mature. But things did not go smoothly for Saori’s family in the village.

Namely, the other villagers thought Saori and her family patronized them because they were from the city. They never really accepted their family and began to ostracize them quickly, making living in the village almost impossible. Due to this, Saori’s family moved back to the city, and Saori was forced to leave Nobara and Fumi; Nobara cried vehemently when Saori left. Saori did not stay in touch with them, fearing that she would end up abandoned by them later. And this is where the historical part stops.

She is living in Tokyo today, leading – as per her own words – a boring life

We have no clue what happened to Saori in the meantime, but we can deduce that she finished high school and… we don’t know what happened later. She was reintroduced to the story in the Shibuya Incident Arc, where we see her at her workplace after the incident. While on a break, she is discussing the incident with her co-worker, who thinks that it might have been a terrorist attack, but Saori doesn’t want to talk about that. Just then, the co-worker asks her whether she wants to get married, which surprises Saori.

The girl then tells her whole story, revealing all the details we provided in the previous section. She reveals some additional details and how she did like Nobara back then because she was simply “too cute,” confirming that they were very close friends. She also reveals that she cried a lot when they moved out of the village and that Nobara and Fumi would probably be disappointed to find out that Saori is now leading an uninteresting life. She then keeps wondering what Nobara is doing at this moment, not knowing what had happened to her during the dreaded fight with Mahito.
