Jujutsu Kaisen is known for its powerful characters and its brilliant fights, some of which are among the best animated in the history of anime, which is why the series is lauded because of that very aspect. The series has become a global hit and is loved, among other things, for its fights and action sequences, and because of that, we have decided to compare two extremely powerful characters from the series, one of them a powerful maverick protagonist and the powerful villain who has been creating his evil plan with a lot of patience. Yuki Tsukumo is the former, while Kenjaku is the latter, and in this article, you are going to find out who would win in a battle between the two of them.

Yuki was likely more powerful than Kenjaku. And while Kenjaku did survive his fight with Yuki, it cannot be said that he is stronger than her, as his survival was the result of sheer luck rather than anything else. Yuki definitely has a shot at defeating the powerful Kenjaku, and while that did not happen in the manga, it doesn’t actually change the objective balance of power between the two. It would be a tight duel, but we’d give Yuki a slight advantage over Kenjaku in this one.

Now that you have the short version of the answer, we are going to provide you with a detailed category-by-category analysis of the issue, presenting the characters in questions to you and giving you a point-by-point analysis that is going to help you understand why we think that Yuki would ultimately surpass Kenjaku in a very close fight, despite losing to him in the manga.

Overall skill

The vast bulk of Kenjaku’s abilities are still unknown, but because he is more than 1,000 years old, he was able to amass a wealth of information that most exorcists in the present day are unaware of. He experimented on a lady, particularly during the Meiji period, and as a result, the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings were born.

Tengen believed that Kenjaku’s level of mastery over magical barriers was sufficient for him to be surpassed. He organized a group of extremely potent S-class curses into a cohesive team in the body of Geto, making them a serious threat to both Japan and the jujutsu community. He uses his existing power excellently and is probably more knowledgeable than his original user.

Being a Special Grade Jujutsu sorcerer, Yuki Tsukumo is regarded as one of the series’ most powerful jujutsu sorcerers. Special Grades are uncommon, and Yuki is the only known Special Grade jujutsu sorcerer in the series, along with Gojo, Geto, and Yuta.

Because of her unconventional fighting techniques and disagreement with the higher-ups’ ideologies and procedures, she is viewed as a maverick who refuses to accept any missions. She isn’t a villain, though, and all she wants is a world free of curses; she just doesn’t like the way the authorities are handling the situation.

Despite not being a teacher at Jujutsu High, she is a great master, and she actually taught Aoi Tod to become the powerful and skilled Grade 1 sorcerer that he is, which shows just how skilled and proficient she is. She can use her innate technique, barrier techniques, and domain expansion. She also has some amazing fighting skills, as she was able to parry the powerful Kenjaku in battle and came very close to actually slaying him when the two of them clashed.

This comparison is extremely difficult, as Kenjaku has enormous knowledge and experience, yet he was unable to defeat Yuki when they fought. Due to Yuki being really, really strong, we think it would be best for us to split the points in this one.

Points: Kenjaku 1, Yuki 1

Jujutsu

Kenjaku, like most other powerful characters, has an immense amount of cursed energy at his disposal, which is best seen in his ability to masterfully use other people’s techniques without too much effort, despite some of them being exceptionally difficult to control.

His Innate Technique has not been named, but it allows him to transfer his brain into a corpse and then take on the memories and the powers of that person, which is how he was Noritoshi Kamo, Itadori’s mother, and Geto, although he merely controlled their corpses. In that aspect, Kenjaku was able to use all of their powers like they were his, and even if he enters a new body, he can use the powers of one of the old ones.

Because Yuki is a Special Grade jujutsu sorceress, her amounts of cursed energy are considered to be exceptionally high, which also improved all of her skills and abilities. The difference between her and a regular Grade 1 jujutsu sorcerer is so enormous that it wouldn’t really be fair to compare them. Due to this, she can easily switch between using her innate, reverse cursed, and anti-domain techniques in a single fight.

Her Innate Technique, Star Rage, enables her and her Shikigami, Garuda, to add extra virtual mass to themselves, enhancing their assaults’ strength and destructiveness. She can also make a Simple Domain and apply the Reverse Cursed Technique. She can grow her own Domain as well, but this one has not yet been observed. She uses an all-destructive black hole transformation as her special move, which she employs against Kenjaku.

Again, This is a category in which we cannot evaluate the two of them objectively. Namely, Kenjaku’s powers stem from those people whose corpses he has taken possession of, but he is nevertheless powerful. Yuki, on the other hand, is simply Yuki. Knowing that Yuki was very close to defeating Kenjaku despite some major setbacks in that fight, we cannot really state that Kenjaku is stronger, so we’re splitting the points again.

Points: Kenjaku 2, Yuki 2

Fighting skills

Kenjaku is quite powerful. In Shibuya, he could shatter his opponent’s saber with ease while still using only his bare hands, parrying one of the fastest techniques, the New School of Shadow’s Shaving Technique. Kenjaku has over 1,000 years of experience and has developed a vast range of hand-to-hand combat skills. This was demonstrated when he engaged Choso in a clean hand-to-hand fight and defeated him.

Yuki’s Innate Technique allows her to increase her physical power to the point where, with a single punch, she could break the floor and send Kenjaku flying into another room while disabling his arms. Yuki could resist Kenjaku and hold him tightly even when she was split in half. Despite the conditions, She could continue fighting even with a broken arm and produce the black hole she used against Kenjaku.

This added to the fact that she can recover with the Reverse Cursed Technique, significantly increasing her overall durability in battle. Her abilities equaled Kenjaku’s, maintaining a good hand-to-hand fight with him without disadvantages. She is also exceptionally fast and can easily be considered one of the best fighters in the series; she also taught Todo basically everything he knows.

Now, weakened and after several major setbacks, Yuki was able to parry Kenjaku in a fight, and this is, actually, where we think that Yuki surpasses Kenjaku. Sure, Kenjaku is a great fighter, but he relies on jujutsu much more. Yuki effectively combines these two aspects, and, along with Garuda, she is an exceptionally powerful entity in that aspect. This is why we award this point to Yuki in the end.

Points: Kenjaku 2, Yuki 3

Intelligence

His intelligence is Kenjaku’s greatest skill, undoubtedly. A character with so much experience and knowledge, Kenjaku has come up with a near-perfect plan involving so many steps that no one could anticipate it. He is a true tactical genius, and however you look at it, he is simply amazing in planning and tactics. He is also very perceptive and can read his opponents well, which allows him to prepare for them better.

In general, Yuki is regarded as being incredibly smart and perceptive. She has given considerable attention to her personal ideology, and her line of reasoning is essentially flawless. She has also shown herself to be a tactical prodigy, and if some other factors hadn’t gone wrong, she would have outwitted Kenjaku in their fight.

And while Kenjaku has the experience that Yuki doesn’t, she is still able to almost defeat him in a fight, showing that she is on par with his brilliant mind. This is why, ultimately, we split the points here.

Yuki is not weaker than Kenjaku, but the plot doesn’t always reflect the objective facts

And while fans of the series know that Yuki seemingly died while failing to kill Kenjaku, from an objective standpoint, Kenjaku is really not stronger than her. They are probably on par, but we’d even give Yuki a slight advantage, as she almost killed Kenjaku despite several major setbacks in that fight. This is something that has to be acknowledged, and if they had a fair fight, we actually think that Yuki would have won.
