Jujutsu Kaisen: Ui Ui’s Cursed Technique Explained!
As we have said, the Shibuya Incident has significantly expanded the number of Jujutsu Kaisen characters in the series, and over the course of the season, we have talked about a lot of them here. One of them will be the topic of this article, as we will tell you about Ui Ui, Mei Mei’s younger brother who was introduced to the series in this arc and whose story is more than interesting. We have already talked about Ui Ui here on Fiction Horizon, and in this article, you will discover more about his very specific Innate Technique, called Spatial Transference.
Due to being Mei Mei’s younger brother, Ui Ui has a lot of potential as a jujutsu sorcerer
As we have said in the introduction, Ui Ui is Mei Mei’s younger brother. The two look alike and have very similar personalities, which is why their sibling relationship is quite interesting (we’ve talked about it already here, so be sure to check it out!). But, in this article, we are actually going to discuss his powers and abilities, focusing specifically on his Innate Technique.
It can be said, as far as his own powers and abilities are concerned, that he is quite a powerful jujutsu sorcerer, but he is not particularly active on the battlefield due to his young age. However, he has participated in both the Shibuya Incident Arc and the Culling Game, although in a supportive role only.
Being Mei Mei’s relative, we know that he possesses an exceptionally high level of cursed energy. Though he is not skilled at manipulating it, his power over it is sufficient to divert the Smallpox Deity’s attention from its sister’s fight, allowing Mei Mei to emerge victorious. Interestingly enough, he and his sister have a Binding Vow in which he pledges to restrict the amount of cursed energy he absorbs until she gives him permission to perform jujutsu. His desire to be as close to his sister as possible was the driving force behind his Binding Vow.
Also, during the Shibuya Incident, we actually had the pleasure of seeing that Ui Ui was already able to use the New Shadow Style: Simple Domain, a very complex and useful technique, as he created a Simple Domain to effectively counter the Smallpox Deity’s domain during the fight that he and his sister had with the powerful cursed spirit released by Kenjaku.
That covers the basics, but we still have to tell you more about his Innate Technique, which is the focus of this article and which is called Spatial Transference.
Ui Ui’s Spatial Transference is useful and powerful, but not much is known about it
Ui Ui’s Innate Technique was initially nameless, but the name was revealed later in the series. Spatial Transference, despite us seeing it and its effects in the series, is still a big enigma, and there is still a lot that we do not know about it; for example, we don’t really know how it works, but we do know what it does.
As seen in the series, Spatial Transference acts as a sort of teleportation technique that allows Ui Ui to relocate himself and other people across large distances in a very short period of time. In Shibuya, he was able to transfer himself and his sister from Tokyo to Kuala Lumpur (a two-hour flight and distance of 3,306.39 mi / 5,321.11 km) in a moment, which saved their lives. As we said, we don’t know how he is doing it and what the limits of this Innate Technique are, but it is quite useful.
Also, thanks to it, he was able to be a part of the Culling Game event as well, as he was a liaison for Maki Zenin during Kenjaku’s deadly game. And that is all we can tell you about Ui Ui’s Innate Technique in the series.
