Mahito is a major villain in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga and anime. An important member of Pseudo-Geto’s team of villains, Mahito caused trouble for the Jujutsu Sorcerers and is infamously known for causing the death of Nanami, which is why many fans hate him. Mahito is a humanoid cursed spirit with a very special technique that allows him to permanently modify someone’s soul just by touching that person. Still, he also has other special powers, including his ability to create a clone of himself, as he did in Shibuya. In this article, we will tell you about the differences between the clone and the original.

  • Article Breakdown:
  • Mahito is a humanoid cursed spirit and a major antagonist in Jujutsu Kaisen. His abilities are related to the specific structure of his body, which makes him an exceptionally dangerous foe.
  • One of Mahito’s specific abilities is to divide his body, through which he can create a perfect clone of himself that looks and behaves exactly as the original. The clone is connected to the original.
  • And while basically identical, there are some differences. The clone acts as Mahito and can use some of Mahito’s abilities, but there are limits as to how effectively he can copy the original body.

Mahito’s clone looks and behaves identically, but there are some differences between the two of them

Mahito is a character who is definitely well-known among the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom. This villain was a member of Kenjaku’s group, and he was, in that aspect, one of his most dangerous assets. Mahito was, indeed, extremely powerful; that cannot be denied.

His main ability consists of him being able to permanently transform a person’s soul as soon as he touches it. This is how he creates transformed humans and kills his enemies in the series; the process is irreversible, which is why Mahito is so dangerous. On top of that, the guy has a sadistically childish personality, which makes him unpredictable, as he doesn’t seem to have any guilt at all. He simply kills and tortures for fun, which is why he is such a complex character in the series.

On top of that, Mahito is infamous for being hard to kill. Physical blows against him are utterly pointless because of his unique structure and soul’s unique construction, which allow him to heal instantaneously. This explains why it is so hard to kill him. As far as is known, the only way to cause harm to Mahito is to directly attack his soul. It won’t always be effective because he has a strong, durable soul that only the strongest people—like Sukuna, Gojo, etc.—can directly injure.

So, knowing all of this, you can understand that Mahito is a really complex opponent and that his skills and abilities are quite versatile, and among them is one that surprised even his allies – his ability to create clones of himself. He demonstrated this ability in front of Jogo and his other allies after Gojo was sealed, as he split himself in two – shocking Jogo – and went after Itadori. Later on, the original body caught up and killed Nanami, after which it ended up in a fight with Yuji, while the clone encountered Nobara and fought with her. The two bodies would eventually reunite and Mahito was then apparently able to kill Nobara, but this is a different topic.

What interests us here is the difference between the clones. Is Mahito’s clone completely identical, or are there some differences between the two of them? We shall now answer this question for you here.

As far as their physical appearance is concerned, Mahito and his clone are completely identical. There is no difference in appearance, and one cannot tell the difference by simply looking at them. They also have the same behavioral pattern, as well as the same manner of speaking, so in that aspect, Mahito and his clone are completely identical.

Mahito’s clone is also able to change and morph his body like the original. This was seen during his fight with Nobara, where he modified his body more than once to create weapons with which he attacked her. We do not know if the clone can further split into additional clones, but we assume that this power is under the control of the original body. Whether the clone can split himself and then reunite himself like the original body (without creating clones) is also unknown.

Also, the clone and the original body are tightly connected one to another. If the clone takes serious damage, the original body will also feel it as the pain resonates. On the other hand, it doesn’t seem like the clone takes on the damage of the original, as the clone did not suffer the damage that Yuji did to the original, while the original was severely injured when Nobara attacked the clone.

But, there is also one major difference that one can use to differentiate between the clone and the original; otherwise, Mahito would be invincible. Namely, while possessing most of Mahito’s original powers, the clone cannot use his transformation technique. While the clone is as fast and strong as the original, its touch is not dangerous. If he touches you, the original will transform you and kill you, but the touch of the clone is completely benign, as he does not have that ability, making him severely limited as an opponent.

This is what Nobara realized during the fight, and this is how and why she was able to gain the upper hand in the battle against the clone after realizing that she is dealing with a clone and not the original.
