Jujutsu Kaisen: Who Kidnapped Misato Kuroi & How? What Happened to Them?
We have already confirmed that Misato Kuroi, a young woman who is seen with Riko, the current Star Plasma Vessel, is one of the more intriguing new characters from the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen, whose first part is going to adapt the Gojo’s Past Arc, where Misato is actually heavily featured. As we know already, Misato Kuroi is Riko’s caretaker, and while she dresses up like a regular maid, she has proven herself to be quite skillful. Still, after what happened with the Cloning Curse, she seemed to have been kidnapped. Was it all just a ruse to lure Riko out or not? Keep reading to find out.
Misato Kuroi was kidnapped after she and Geto defeated one of Bag-Man’s clones. Geto left her alone at her own insistence, and she was kidnapped by a couple of bounty hunters, who sent a photo of her, tied up and gagged, as proof to Geto and Gojo. They would then demand an exchange on Okinawa, but with Geto and Gojo being Geto and Gojo, they simply found them, Gojo beat them up, and, ultimately, Riko freed Misato. And that was that. She was kidnapped, but she was also freed in a very quick fashion.
In this article, we will bring you the details related to Misato Kuroi and her kidnapping, a small subplot in Episodes 2 and 3 of the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen. We will expand on the answer we’ve given above by telling you what happened, how it happened, and how the whole situation was ultimately resolved. The article is, and we always warn you about that, going to be filled with spoilers, so be careful how you approach it if you’re not fully up-to-date with the plot of the series.
Misato Kuroi was, indeed, kidnapped, but she was freed almost instantly
As we all know, Misato Kuroi, a young woman of 31, was first introduced in the second season of the anime during Gojo’s Past flashback arc. She has cared for Riko Amanai ever since her parents died in an accident when she was a young kid.
Although she seems to be weak and fragile, her opponents are shocked by the fact that she is quite powerful, despite being a non-combatant, although she is a jujutsu sorceress. And this is a fact that we will discuss, as we will provide you with a recap of the events that led to her being kidnapped.
After saving her from Q’s Bayer and Kokun, Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto were forced to take Riko to school because she wanted them to, despite them thinking it was not a smart thing. She also gave them the order to stay away from her so her friends wouldn’t spot them, but Geto nevertheless left some curses around the school to keep an eye on her while the girl’s two guardians remained with Misato nearby.
When they ended up being exorcised, that was a sign for Geto, Gojo, and Misato to head over to the school and save Rika. While Geto and Misato engaged their opponents, Rika had her music class in the chapel; Gojo was the one to approach her and take her away to safety, which was expected of him.
And while Geto was fighting the Old Curse User, Misato was simultaneously faced with the Bag-Man Curse User, another secondary villain who saw Toji’s big bounty on Riko’s head and wanted to collect it. As everyone could see, the Bag-Man Curse User was a physically powerful guy who wore a paper bag with strange drawings of an eye and a mouth over his head, making his face invisible; it is not known why he wore the bag over his head, but it ultimately became his trademark and with his name never revealed, he became known as the Bag-Man.
But, getting back to the fight, he was much stronger physically than Misato, but she still faced him head-on. He also seemed to be talking to himself, which was strange, but it ultimately made sense when his power was explained.
So, while the big guy warned Misato to step down as he was sure he would defeat her, Misato proved quite resilient, and using only a broom and her agility, Misato actually managed to beat him up and knock him down. Soon after, Geto, who had taken care of the old guy, arrived and used his curses to immobilize the Bag-Man, whose body suddenly disintegrated and disappeared. Misato assumed it was a Shikigami, but Geto deduced that it was actually a clone, which he told Gojo.
And while the scene switched to Gojo’s fight, we lost focus of Geto and Misato, but before the episode ended, Geto and Gojo received a photo message on their phones, with the photo actually showing Misato on the floor, tied up and gagged. It was proof that she had been kidnapped, but we had no clue what was happening since the episode ended.
Some fans thought that this might have been a trick by Toji to split up Gojo and Geto, something we wouldn’t really put past Toji; namely, everyone knew that Misato was with Geto and assumed that Geto would have taken care of her before heading to Gojo’s location, but the third episode revealed that it wasn’t exactly like that.
Namely, Suguru Geto, after their win over the clone, was told by Misato to leave and help Gojo protect Riko; she believed that they were not in danger anymore, as Riko was the target anyhow, and that even if she were attacked, she would be able to take care of herself. Knowing their mission, Geto agreed, so the message shocked him.
By seeing Geto’s face and his guilt for leaving Misato, we can deduce that it was not a ruse and that she was kidnapped. Gojo and Geto deduced that she was kidnapped so that the guys could get their hands on Riko, so they devised a plan to free her.
And while they did free her, it was not revealed how they found her. What happened? Nothing much… they found her location, Gojo burst the door with his foot and then beat up the two kidnappers very relaxedly. Riko, in the meantime, freed Misato, and all four of them remained in Okinawa, where the kidnappers were, to have a bit of fun.
Who, in the end, kidnapped Misato? Well, that part was never revealed, really. We know that she was kidnapped by two guys, two seemingly younger males, but that was about it. Their identities were never revealed, and we can assume that they simply wanted the bounty, so they came up with a plan to get their hands on Riko easily, but they underestimated Gojo and Geto, which ultimately led to the complete failure of their silly plan and Misato being freed.
