Jujutsu Kaisen: Who Is Bayer? How Powerful Is He & What Happened to Him?

With the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen finally underway, we’ve had the chance to see the beginning of Gojo’s Past Arc, which took us back to 2006, when Gojo and Geto were still students. Now, this short arc is going to tell an interesting story, which started with a major incident involving a group of secondary villains from the organization known simply as Q. They were secondary villains in every sense of the word, but their two members were still interesting enough for us to tell you a bit about them. In this article, we will talk about Bayer, who was described as Q’s best fighter, as you will find out who Bayer was, what happened to him, and how powerful he actually was.
Bayer was a powerful curse user and an elite member of the revolutionary organization known simply as Q. He was an adult man with long, dark hair who wore a military-style uniform. Although the true extent of his powers has not been revealed, he is known for his exceptional skills with his daggers and was said to have been the strongest member of Q. He tried to kill the Star Plasma Vessel but was ultimately defeated by Satoru Gojo with relative ease. He is still alive.
The rest of this article will focus on Bayer and his fate in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. Bayer is a new secondary villain introduced to the series, and while he did not have a long-lasting impact, people still want to know about him, which is what inspired this article. His fate interests all fans, so we will reveal what happened to him in this article. This article will contain some spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, so be careful how you approach it.
Bayer was the strongest member of Q, but that wasn’t nearly enough to defeat Gojo
As we have already said, the principal antagonist of the first part of Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen is going to be Toji Fushiguro, who will, despite his lack of jujutsu powers, be a very formidable and dangerous foe, even for the likes of Satoru Gojo, who is thought to be the most powerful character in the series. But, aside from Toji, two villainous organizations will also serve as the antagonists in the arc, and one of them is Q. As the title suggests, the focus of this article is going to be Q’s strongest member, Bayer, who clashed with Gojo in the series.
Since both Bayer and Kokun, the two Q members introduced to the series, were secondary characters, and we don’t have too much data on them. But here is what we know. Bayer was a seemingly powerful curse user from Q. He was an adult man who wore a white, military-style suit with a cape and a beret.
The lower part of his face is usually covered, but Gojo would ultimately show us his whole face. He has long dark hair and brown eyes. His personality seems to be quite calm, and he seems to respect the skills of his opponents, although he is shown to get angry when Gojo asks him to surrender, which is probably due to his narcissistic nature.
As for his ideals, Bayer obviously shares the ideals of Q, his organization. The Q organization was actually an enemy of the second organization, the Time Vessel Association, who worshiped Master Tengen, an immortal centuries-old jujutsu sorcerer who needed a vessel to fully revive themselves.
Due to different ideological values, Q wanted to stop Master Tengen from resetting their cursed technique, as they believed that they would, in that case, become enemies of humanity, which wasn’t really their goal, as it seemed. They actually wanted to overthrow the current system of the jujutsu society and reform it into a new one, which is why they can be labeled as a revolutionary organization.
The members of Q had a major impact on the second part of the series’ first episode. Knowing that the Star Plasma Vessel was there, Q wanted to kill Riko Amanai, the vessel, but that proved to be their ultimate blunder. Namely, at one point, the secret location of the Star Plasma Vessel leaked out, and members of Q were the first to arrive at the building wanting to assassinate the young girl.
After an explosion at the top of the building, Kokun appeared and pushed Riko out of the window, hoping that he would kill her like that, but Geto saved her.
At the same time, the more powerful Bayer attacked Gojo down below, and while Gojo, knowing that he was the stronger one, asked Bayer to surrender, the Q member did not want to do that, and the two of them engaged in a fight. Of course, being as powerful as he is, Gojo took care of Bayer with ease and even made a picture with his defeated opponent, which he showed to his fellow classmates. Kokun and Bayer were apprehended, and the organization was forced to shut down as its two most prominent members were taken in.
So, how powerful was Bayer in the first place? His losing to Gojo is not a surprise as everyone who’s ever fought Gojo ultimately lost to him, so this is not a proper point of reference. But, at the same time, we don’t really know how powerful he was in a comparative sense.
He was certainly a skilled curse user and was confirmed to be the strongest member of Q, but since we only saw him fight Gojo, we cannot give a proper and objective evaluation of his skills and abilities. We know he was quite skilled with his daggers, but that’s about it as far as Bayer is concerned.
He ultimately survived, but he was taken in and ceased to be an important factor later in the story.
