Ahead of the release, MCU’s most recent installment Captain America: Brave New World reportedly faced some challenges behind the scenes. Reports said the movie has gone through major reshoots, script changes, and creative disagreements, causing frustration among the crew.

Additionally, there were rumors about Harrison Ford being difficult on set. The insider claimed that Ford, who portrays U.S. President Thaddeus E. “Thunderbolt” Ross in the film, was difficult to work with on set. While expressing admiration for the actor’s past work, they described him as “one of the crankiest performers I ever dealt with” and accused him of creating an awkward atmosphere.

He was very much a diva,” the source said. “I don’t know if you remember, but he got in a plane crash. He couldn’t even raise his left arm above his chest. We have to suit up 80-something Harrison Ford in these motion-capture dots. To me, it seemed like he hated it and didn’t want to do it. And when Harrison was done, he was done. Everyone was trying to scramble to make him happy. That made for a very awkward work environment.”

Now the movie’s director, Julius Onah discredited these rumors. He said he can only speak from his own experience but he described Ford as a true professional who is passionate about his work and committed to making the best film possible.

Onah acknowledged that creative discussions can get intense, but they were always focused on improving the movie. He praised Ford’s performance and said both the cast and crew had great respect for him.

Look, I can’t speak to anything that anybody is speculating on or speaking about off the record. All I can speak to is my experience with Harrison. He was an utter professional. He is a guy who’s incredibly serious and passionate about the work. The creative process is one where you have these really meaningful and, at times, passionate conversations, but it was always working towards a target where we were making the best version of the film possible. I think Harrison gave a phenomenal performance in the film. I was so honored to work with him. I learned so much from him, and the entire cast has nothing but love and respect for him, and the crew as well. That’s the experience I had in the making of this film, and that’s the truth of what our filmmaking was on set.
