Kevin Feige Announces New Marvel Special in Development: “You just have to wait”

Despite Bob Iger’s announcement that the MCU will scale back its creative output, many projects are still in development or rumored to be in the works. While ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is the only MCU film set for release this year, fans can also anticipate the debut of the ‘Agatha All Along’ TV series and several animated projects later in the year.

In recent months, some rumored projects have been confirmed, including a live-action show titled ‘Nova,’ centered on Richard Rider, and ‘Vision Quest,’ which will focus on White Vision.

Amidst a flurry of movies, shows, and animated projects, it appears Marvel Studios is working on new specials similar to ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special’ and ‘Werewolf by Night.’

In a recent interview with Collider to discuss the future of the MCU, Feige confirmed that a new special presentation is in the works. However, he remained notably vague about the details.

Werewolf by Night and the Guardians [of the Galaxy] specialI love these special presentations, and all the fans did as well. What do we need to do to get more special presentations?

FEIGE: There will be more. You just have to wait.

Are you actually actively in development on one right now?

FEIGE: Yes.

More than one?

FEIGE: Just one right now.

Is it next year?

FEIGE: No.

Okay, so it’s something in the future.

FEIGE: Yes.

As you can see, the reveal comes with very few details. The previous two specials were critically acclaimed and well-received by fans, who embraced the concept. A new special could be an ideal way to revisit characters introduced in Phase 4 but largely overlooked in later projects.
