Kevin Feige’s Sole Condition for Wolverine’s Return Receives Unanimous Fan Approval
We’re just weeks away from the release of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ The film is generating positive projections and is anticipated to become Disney’s top-grossing movie this year.
Being the sole MCU release of the year, the marketing campaign alone has captivated fans, with widespread consensus among the fandom that the movie appears poised for a resounding success.
However, it wasn’t always assured. Recently, Reynolds and Jackman disclosed that ‘Deadpool 3’ was on the brink of cancellation. It was Jackman’s suggestion that ultimately revived the project, just before Reynolds was set to make the pivotal call to halt production.
We also learned that Feige attempted to dissuade Jackman from reprising his role as Wolverine, citing the poignant conclusion of ‘Logan’ as a fitting farewell for the character.
More recently, while promoting the upcoming film to audiences in Shanghai, Levy admitted that Feige imposed one condition for Wolverine’s return—he had to don a yellow, comic-accurate suit.
He said, ‘Yes, but he wears the yellow. Can he finally wear the yellow?
Wolverine’s classic outfit is predominantly yellow with blue accents, covering his torso, arms, and legs, while the blue appears on his cowl, gloves, boots, and sometimes as accents. Fans have long clamored for a faithful adaptation of this comic-accurate suit in movies and television, often expressing disappointment with previous reinterpretations for practical or aesthetic reasons.
Despite promotional materials showing Wolverine without his cowl, reports indicate that he will wear it briefly in the upcoming movie, though not for the majority of the film. Rumors suggest the cowl will feature in approximately 10 minutes of screen time.
