With the release of ‘Venom: The Last Dance,’ Knull, the King in Black, is finally making his live-action debut. While Kelly Marcel, the film’s writer and director, confirmed that Knull isn’t the main villain of ‘Venom 3,’ he’s being teased for future projects.

Since his appearance in the trailer, rumors have circulated that Knull will play a significant role in the MCU, especially as the main villain in ‘Spider-Man 4,’ where he could disrupt the Multiverse.

However, what if Knull isn’t setting up ‘Spider-Man 4’ but is instead laying the groundwork for the long-rumored ‘Sinister Six’ movie? Sony originally planned a ‘Sinister Six’ film back in 2013 for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ universe, with Drew Goddard attached to direct. Could this be the direction Knull is heading towards?

Although it was thought to be canceled by November 2015, the ‘Sinister Six’ project was brought back in December 2018 after the success of ‘Venom.’ Producer Amy Pascal even said they planned to move forward once Drew Goddard was ready to direct.

However, things went quiet again until recently. New reports suggest Sony is still working on the movie, which makes sense since most of the team members are already in the universe. Once ‘Kraven the Hunter’ comes out, we’ll have nearly all the core members: Electro, Kraven, Mysterio, Sandman, and Vulture. Plus, other versions of the team even include Morbius.

Morbius and Vulture already crossed paths in that confusing post-credit scene. If Vulture can cross over, it’s likely that Mysterio and Electro can too.

‘Kraven the Hunter’ will introduce Kraven, and the director has teased appearances from Rhino and other Marvel characters. The villains could potentially team up to take down Knull, with all of them eventually crossing over into the MCU.

It seems like a missed chance for Sony to introduce Knull and then hand him off to the MCU right away. They could easily build a solid franchise around him, assuming the movies are well done.

What do you think? Should Knull fight the Sinister Six in the SSU? Let us know in the comments!
