Leslye Headland Hints at More Jecki Lon and Yord in the Future

We’re gradually approaching the final episode of ‘The Acolyte,’ where the stories of Osha, Mae, Qimir, and Master Sol will hopefully reach their conclusion. Episode 5 saw the shocking departure of fan favorites Jecki Lon and Yord, who were brutally killed by Qimir, highlighting his menacing and dangerous nature.
Headland recently clarified that the major twist in episode 5 wasn’t the revelation about The Stranger’s identity, which was evident from the start as the “goofy” poison seller. Instead, the real surprise was the bold decision by the showrunners to eliminate two major characters more than halfway through the series.
During a recent press release, Leslye Headland was asked if fans can expect to see more of Jecki and Yord. She hinted that they might, but perhaps not in the way we would expect:
Since wrapping up the season, there’s definitely some stuff that I would love to see come to fruition. Obviously, Vernestra already exists in publishing, so also going to do something there.
Headland also mentioned that although the plan was always to kill off both Jecki and Yord, the actor created extensive backstories for the characters in the writers’ room. This groundwork can now be used to expand on their origin stories, since we already know their fate.
So, it was kind of fun to think about them a lot and then think, ‘Well, because we didn’t spend a lot of time with them, maybe there’s a way we could keep playing around with them somehow
Jecki and Yord aren’t the only characters who might have their origin stories explored. It’s already been confirmed that fans can look forward to a one-shot comic focusing on the first live-action Wookiee Jedi, Kelnacca.
