During Disney+ Day 2021, it was unveiled that an animated series titled ‘Marvel Zombies’ was in the works for Disney+, with Zeb Wells on board as both writer and executive producer. This series extends the universe introduced in the ‘What If…?’ episode titled ‘What If… Zombies!?’.
At San Diego Comic-Con 2022, it was disclosed that the series would carry a TV-MA rating and is slated for a 2024 debut. In an interview on October 8, 2022, Zeb Wells revealed that the first season would comprise four episodes. On November 28, 2023, Iman Vellani confirmed her participation, lending her voice to Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, a pivotal character in the series.
Details about the series’ plot remain sparse, other than confirmation that it won’t directly adapt the renowned comic storyline. However, expectations point to a wealth of gore and action sequences, as emphasized by Brad Winderbaum’s remarks regarding the show’s TV-MA rating.
Previously, we revealed that Zombie Wanda is slated to serve as the primary antagonist of the series. Now, fresh rumors suggest that the show will introduce the enigmatic Infinity Hulk.
If you’re puzzled by this version of Hulk, think of it as Hulk wielding the complete set of Infinity Stones, as depicted in ‘What If…?’ episodes. However, merging Hulk’s inherent physiology with this technology yields an unstoppable iteration of the character.
Fans have already drawn comparisons between the purported Infinity Hulk and Maestro Hulk, who was introduced in ‘Maestro’ #1 (‘Hulk: Future Imperfect’ #1).
He exists as an alternate incarnation of the Hulk originating from a bleak future, where he reigns as a tyrant over the remnants of humanity following a nuclear catastrophe. Maestro combines Bruce Banner’s intellect with the Hulk’s formidable strength, rendering him a formidable and menacing foe.
There are also rumors circulating about the inclusion of Blade and Moon Knight in the series, with Blade possibly assuming the role of the Fist of Khonshu.
