Scarlet Witch Reportedly to Assume the Role of a Main Villain in the Upcoming MCU Project

One of the intriguing upcoming MCU projects is ‘Marvel Zombies.’ While details about the plot are scarce, it’s not expected to directly adapt the famous comic storyline. However, fans can anticipate plenty of gore and action. ‘Marvel Zombies’ serves as the first spinoff of the ‘What If…?’ animated TV Show, extending the universe introduced in the episode ‘What If… Zombies!?’

According to a popular leaker CanWeGetSomeToast, fans can anticipate Scarlet Witch not only appearing in the show but also being portrayed as the main villain. Zombie Scarlet Witch made an appearance in the finale of ‘What If..?’ Season 2, where Captain Carter and Kahhori had to defeat her along with other enemies to reach demonic Doctor Strange. The upcoming animated series is expected to delve deeper into Scarlet Witch’s character and explore her backstory, including how she became trapped by Doctor Strange.

Besides Scarlet Witch, other characters rumored to play significant roles in the upcoming show include Moon Knight and Blade, who will reportedly take on the role of the new Fist of Khonshu.

Iman Vellani has also confirmed her involvement; she will voice Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, is one of the main characters in the series.

‘Marvel Zombies’ will be released under the Marvel Spotlight banner. Brad Winderbaum, the head of animation at Marvel Studios, recently clarified the show’s TV-MA rating.

In terms of more mature animation, yeah, we’re making a ‘Marvel Zombies’ show right now that is pretty intense that’s for sure a TV-MA show. And again, it’s trying to honor the comics. And what was so great about the comics was it not pulling its punches. That’s certainly what we’re going for on that project also.
