Marvel Television has kept its Disney Plus output remarkably steady this year, and the pace shows no sign of slowing as 2026 moves into its second half. Marvel Studios has revealed the first look at its newest series, Wonder Man, set to hit Disney Plus on January 27, 2026, and that release kicked off a lineup that spans animation, street level crime drama, and superhero comedy.

For fans trying to keep track of what’s actually confirmed versus what remains speculation, the picture has become clearer over the past several months. Below is a rundown of the shows currently locked in for release, along with what is known about cast, story direction, and timing for each.

Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are set to return for a third season of ‘Daredevil, Born Again,’ with production having started in early 2026. The third season was announced on September 18, 2025, and is expected to release on Disney Plus in March 2027. Confirmed returning cast includes Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn, Arty Froushan as Buck Cashman, and Matthew Lillard as Mr. Charles.

The most notable development involves a long awaited reunion. Krysten Ritter is returning as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter is back as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones has been spotted filming as Danny Rand, marking the first time these four street level heroes have teamed up on screen since Netflix’s ‘The Defenders’ in 2017. Vincent D’Onofrio is also back as Wilson Fisk, though the character is now on the run and attempting to lay low.

Marvel’s Brad Winderbaum confirmed the renewal directly to IGN, telling the outlet the show would follow an annual release cadence. Speaking with IGN, Winderbaum said the season was greenlit and that production would begin the following year. That interview also revealed strong performance numbers for the franchise, with the season one premiere pulling roughly 7.5 million views in its first five days on the platform.

Production on the third season began in March 2026 and wrapped by early July, putting the show on track for its expected spring 2027 window. Showrunner Dario Scardapane has said the story will draw from several comic arcs, including material tied to Matt Murdock’s current standing with the law, and that psychiatrist Heather Glenn will take on a larger role as the next incarnation of Muse.

‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ Season 2

Marvel Animation announced that the second season of ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ will release on Disney Plus in fall 2026, with the news revealed at New York Comic Con alongside a trailer shown to attendees. The footage revealed that season two will introduce the Venom symbiote, Gwen Stacy, and the return of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, along with the reappearance of Norman and Harry Osborn and villains including Doctor Octopus, Chameleon, and Scorpion.

Hudson Thames continues to voice Peter Parker in the series, which takes place in a universe separate from Tom Holland’s big screen version of the character. Norman Osborn, voiced by Colman Domingo, mentors Peter in place of Tony Stark, and season one ended with Doctor Strange and Spider-Man teaming up to save New York City.

The timing of the release was reportedly deliberate on Marvel’s part. The season is positioned to arrive after ‘Spider-Man, Brand New Day’ hits theaters in July, a scheduling choice meant to avoid overlap during the summer blockbuster window while capitalizing on renewed interest in the character afterward.

Winderbaum has framed the gap between seasons as typical for animated productions rather than a sign of trouble. In comments made to Collider, he explained the show’s plan for future output. Speaking with Collider, Winderbaum said the studio wants a ‘Spider-Man’ season every year, noting that animation usually has a larger gap between season one and season two before settling into an annual rhythm.

‘Marvel Zombies’ Season 2

‘Marvel Zombies’ premiered on Disney Plus on September 24, 2025, based on the ‘What If’ episode that imagined a zombie outbreak sweeping through the Marvel universe, and the first season consisted of four episodes. The voice cast included Awkwafina as Katy Chen, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov, Simu Liu as Shang Chi, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, Randall Park as Jimmy Woo, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan.

A second season was confirmed in April 2026, though Marvel has kept most details close to the chest. Brad Winderbaum confirmed the renewal on The Escape Pod podcast, revealing that production on season two is already well underway. Reception to the first season was mixed, with the show holding a 66 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a noticeably lower score than the 85 percent earned by ‘What If,’ the anthology series it spun out of.

No release date has been set yet for the follow up season, and Marvel has not made a formal announcement beyond Winderbaum’s podcast comments. What has been teased is a tonal shift, with the executive hinting the story will do something new for the franchise. Given the momentum behind Marvel’s animated slate this year, a 2027 window seems the most likely landing spot.

Between a Hollywood satire starring a founding West Coast Avenger, a long promised Defenders reunion, a new coat of Venom symbiote goo, and a zombie outbreak that still has secrets to reveal, Marvel’s Disney Plus calendar remains full for the foreseeable future. Which of these returning or brand new series are you most looking forward to watching first?
