‘Mechanical Marie’ Rom-Com Anime Releases Trailer, Reveals Release Window

Whatever you like in terms of genre and story, you will probably find it in an anime or manga. This world is so vast and so rich with different stories that there is practically something for everyone’s taste.

If you’re a fan of quirky romantic comedies, then you might check out the Mechanical Marie manga series by Aki Akimoto, which originally ran from 2020 to 2023 through six volumes and is now continued in the form of a sequel, Mechanical Marie+, which debuted in April 2025.

But the original series will be getting an anime adaptation, and the producers have just released a proper trailer and some relevant information, which we’d like to share with you here.

Before we continue with the information, here is the trailer:

The teaser trailer is quite what we’d expected from the series, funny and quirky, and that is what we can expect from the anime. A precise release date has not been given, but we know that the anime will premiere during the 2025 Fall season.

The official synopsis reveals the following:

Once a genius martial artist, Marie is a human girl who now hides her identity and works undercover as a “mechanical maid” in the mansion of Arthur, the heir to a powerful conglomerate who despises humans. If her true identity is discovered, it’s instant execution!?

Nao Tōyama will voice Marie, while Arthur will be voiced by Haruki Ishiya. Other cast members will be revealed at a later date.

As for the crew, we can confirm that Junji Nishimura will be directing the anime at Zero-G and Lieber, while Mariko Kunisawa will be in charge of the series scripts. Also, Yoko Kikuchi will be designing the characters, while Yasuharu Takanashi and Johannes Nilsson will be composing the music.
