Meet Peacemaker’s Team In New Official Clip Of Upcoming HBOMax Show
Next year will be pretty much full of superhero content, and not just on the big screen. Both Marvel and DC have a lot of projects prepared for us, and we can also include The Boys Season 3 in that box, because you know, superhero.
Speaking of which, while The Boys is probably the most known R-rated superhero show that we’ll watch next year, DC also has something based on a comic book character, with a lot of swearing, graphic depiction of violence, and all that R-rated stuff. Include John Cena and James Gunn into that math, and you’ll get — Peacemaker!
John Cena debuted as Christopher Smith, also known as Peacemaker, in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, a sequel/reboot of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. Peacemaker was one of the new characters that joined already known characters, like Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn and Joel Kinnaman‘s Rick Flag. But now, Peacemaker will be a known character, and his team will be introduced. You can already meet the team in the new official clip that HBOMax just revealed:
Peacemaker is a character who cherishes peace with all of his heart, and he doesn’t care how many people he needs to kill to achieve it. Yeah, he’s not really all good in his head. But you know, sometimes villains make the best heroes, or do they? Well, we’ll find out next month when the show premieres on HBOMax.
James Gunn, the writer and director of The Suicide Squad, wrote all eight episodes of Peacemaker and directed five of them. The show is also starring Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, and Chukwudi Iwuji, who will also star in James Gunn’s Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Peacemaker will premiere on January 13, 2022, exclusively on HBOMax. The Suicide Squad is now streaming on HBOMax. James Gunn said that The Suicide Squad should be watched before the Peacemaker starts.
