Meliodas vs. Goku: Who Would Win & Why?

In this article, we are going to compare Meliodas, the protagonist of the Seven Deadly Sins anime, and Son Goku, the protagonist of Dragon Ball. So, who wins in an all-out Meliodas vs. Goku?

Goku would easily win in a fight against Meliodas. While Meliodas certainly is powerful and has enormous powers, he is nothing compared to Goku’s powers, especially in the new seasons of the anime.

Meliodas and his powers

The male protagonist of the series and leader of the Seven Sins, Meliodas has the appearance of a young man of no more than fifteen years. His personality and attitudes such as his habit of drinking beer or his lewd behavior towards Elizabeth shows that he is much older than he appears.

In reality, he is a thousand year old demon who is cursed with immortality; his main motivation is to find a way to break his curse and live alongside his beloved Elizabeth.

Power and personality

Thousands of years ago Meliodas used to be the original leader of the Ten Commandments, a clan of powerful demons who were at war with the clan of goddesses. However Meliodas fell in love with one of the members of the clan of the goddesses, Elizabeth with whom he would betray his family and the two would try to find a way to end the war.

Magical powers

His main magic attack is called “Full Couner” with which, by receiving a large amount of magic attack, he is able to reflect it and redirect it to his opponents in battle. The more powerful the attack or if Meliodas absorbs the impact and contains it long enough, his attack can increase hundreds of times than the original.

To be able to carry it out, Meliodas can use any type of inanimate object for his task, such as a wooden stick, a spoon or even a hilt of a broken sword.

Son Goku and his powers

Son Goku, often referred to simply as Goku, is a fictional character and the protagonist of Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball manga. Son Goku begins as a naive child with a monkey tail and disproportionate strength, who, initially only together with Bulma, but later also with his other companions, sets out in search of the magical dragon balls that allow you to fulfill a wish.

He later discovers that he belongs to the extraterrestrial and warrior people of the Saiyans and is actually called Kakaroth. Growing up, Goku becomes the strongest warrior on Earth and faces numerous increasingly powerful adversaries who threaten the peace of the planet and the universe.

Physical traits

Being a member of the Saiyan race, from an early age he is able to quickly become much stronger than normal earthlings. As for all the other members of the people, he possesses supernatural powers: the length of his youthful period and of maximum health is longer than that of the terrestrials.

He is able to make the transformation into a giant monkey by means of his tail (on full moon nights) which increases his fighting power ten times.

Finally, he possesses the ability called Zenkai.

Strength

Being a Saiyan, he possesses a strength and resistance far superior to those of a human being (as is already highlighted at his first appearance). Nevertheless, since he was a newborn, Goku was classified as a warrior of the lowest level, since he was one of the individuals weaker than his people.

Goku in the course of the plot managed to overcome his natural weakness with constant training under the supervision of various masters, among other things since his arrival on Earth he had trained in martial arts at an early age, with the result that he managed to achieve and to overcome Vegeta’s strength, although this last one was considered the best elite Saiyan of all.

Weaknesses

Like any Saiyan, he loses all his energy if someone grabs his tail, but on the occasion of the 22nd Tenkaichi Tournament, he was able to strengthen it by training it by not being deprived of his strength when it is grabbed.

Meliodas vs. Son Goku: Who would win?

A brief analysis of their powers tells us that both characters are, truly, very powerful within their respective universes. Meliodas is the leader of the Seven Deadly Sins and a son of the Demon King; he is also the former leader of the Ten Commandments. As such, he is capable of enormous feats and is considered to be of the most powerful characters in the series.

On the other hand, Son Goku has evolved in such a magnificent fashion that he became one of the most powerful beings in Toriyama’s universe and one of the most powerful fictional characters ever. He fought a lot of hard battles, battles Meliodas cannot even imagine, and enemies that are far above Meliodas’ power level.

That enough gives us enough basis to calmly conclude that Son Goku would be the winner of this showdown. He is simply far above Meliodas’ power level and has fought the likes of actual deities. Goku’s power is at a level at which he can destroy planets, while Meliodas’ is not even near that level, really.
