Rarely does an anime so effectively reflect Western superhero traditions like My Hero Academia does. This anime series, based on the manga of the same name, focuses on the story of Izuku Midoriya in a world full of Western-style superheroes and supervillains, but with a classic manga-like twist.

Now, this world is full of truly amazing characters, and here are the strongest villains from My Hero Academia. Our list is going to contain a total of 15 villains, ranked from 15th to 1st place. We are going to tell you a bit about each of them and their powers, from which you will be able to deduce why we have ranked them as we did. Let’s dive into our list of the most powerful villains from My Hero Academia

15. Daruma Ujiko (Kyudai Garaki)

Kyudai Garaki 28Anime29

Kyudai’s abilities are currently unknown, but it can be seen that he is a genius in everything related to medicine. She is capable of creating nomus that can use multiple Quirks. Kyudai was able to make All For One fit to fight after being severely injured after the match with All Might. His Quirk grants Kyudai twice the vitality of other people, however, at the cost of losing his athletic ability. Kyudai gifted him to All For One to “preserve” him, leaving him with only a duplicate of the original.

14. Dabi (Toya Todoroki)

Dabi speaks to the other villains

Having been trained by his father since childhood and undergoing self-training, Toya has shown himself to be a highly capable villain, being one of the Vanguard Action Squad’s strongest members as well as its leader. He has the power and wits to deal with a multitude of heroes and after joining the League of Villains, Dabi killed over thirty people, which is to earn him a reputation as a dangerous criminal and a known mass murderer in the world.

Toya’s doubles created by Twice were noted to be weaker than the actual villain, but still strong enough to hold off both Vlad King and Eraserhead during the forest invasion. Dabi was able to easily repel Bakugo’s escort squad and finally held off Katsuki Bakugo with just one hand. He is powerful enough to defeat and kill even a professional hero.

He managed to burn Snatch to near instant death by collaborating with Mr. Compress. During the Super Power Liberation Army Arc he was matched up against Geten a very powerful member with a highly proficient command over his Quirk. Some time later, during the Paranormal Liberation War, he demonstrated his power again by being able to easily overwhelm Hawks the number two hero, Fumikage Tokoyami and Shoto Todoroki two of the strongest students of Class 1-A and Nejire Hado, part of the Big Three, using the power of their intense blue flames.

13. Innsmouth

Octopus

The Quirk of Innsmouth gives him enough strength to lift a grown man with one arm and deliver punches capable of breaking rock and metal. The Quirk of Innsmouth allows it to have the physiological characteristics of octopuses and to exploit their natural abilities: multiple sprawling limbs, infinite suckers scattered over the body, and the power to spit ink from its siphon-mouth.

12. Himiko Toga

Himiko fears that it may be a trap

Himiko is a very talented and dangerous fighter who is not only capable of melee combat with Pro Heroes but is also a master of disguise, infiltration, and camouflage, mainly due to her metamorphosis. Espionage is one of her most salient qualities, holding her breath and clearing her mind, allowing Himiko to erase her presence and supposedly disappear from the sight of her enemies.

This ability is not limited to ambushes as it can also be used in combat and disappears if the opponent distracts their attention, even for a moment. And although she lacks one Quirk that amplifies her combat skills, Himiko effectively uses her incredible agility, reflexes, and acrobatic skills. She is also adept at creating openings for hiding, such as deliberately forcing an opponent to escape. Everything we mentioned thus far makes her an extremely powerful villain from My Hero Academia.

11. Stain (Chizome Akaguro)

Hero Killer Stain

Stain is a powerful My Hero Academia villain, as he was able to fight and heavily damage Ingenium, a popular and powerful Pro Hero, easily crippling him. Stain was also able to kill 17 well-known Pro Heroes and cripple another 23 to the point of being unable to make a full recovery. Even Shoto Todoroki commented that Stain is a strong combatant.

It took the combined efforts of Izuku Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki, and Tenya Iida to finish off Stain, but even using all of his power they only managed to touch Stain briefly; Izuku commented that Stain was probably holding back against them and could have killed them at any time, to which Shouto agreed. He can emit an overwhelming amount of bloodlust when provoked, enough to cause even Endeavor, a highly regarded hero, to panic.

Stain himself has been shown to be very agile, as he has been able to dodge Tenya’s high-speed kick with ease and has shown to have great speed as well as great reaction time. Stain also seems to have a high tolerance for pain, as he barely felt any pain when he took Izuku’s Detroit Smash 5% to the head, but he was completely unfazed.

Stain has immense stamina, his lungs were pierced by broken ribs and, despite losing consciousness due to his injured lungs, he remained upright even though he was unconscious. Stain has displayed creativity and mastery over his fighting style has been able to take on close and long-range opponents through a mix of misdirection, aggression, prediction, and the use of the environment in order to get up close and personal with his orient or at least draw the slightest amount of blood to activate his Quirk.

10. Wolfram

Wolfram My Hero Academia Two Heroes

Wolframs’ abilities are largely unknown, however, All For One was willing to entrust him with a Muscle-enhancing Quirk. This suggests that All For One expected great things from him. Wolfram is the leader of a small team of villains. His subordinates were able to fight on par with the prodigal students of Class 1-A for a short time.

Wolfram displayed strategic intellect by pretending to be a fake villain hired to steal Don’s amplification device. Wolfram was able to pass himself off and his subordinates as a group of fake villains for hire. David and Sam did not recognize Wolfram as a true villain. This suggests that Wolfram has taken steps to ensure that he has stayed under the radar.

After the chaos he caused on I-Island, he most likely lost this advantage. He allows her to manipulate metallic material by making physical contact with its surface of it. He can be used for both offensive and defensive purposes, such as creating flexible pillars to crush his targets or creating tall, sturdy walls to defend himself and trap his opponents.

Given by All For One, Wolfram’s second Quirk which allows him to increase his muscle mass, greatly increasing his physical strength. This Quirk is very similar to One For All, but not as powerful.

9. Oji Harima

Oji Harima Anime

Nothing is currently known about Oji Harima’s abilities, however, he has been compared to extremely powerful villains, such as All For One, the emperor of the criminal underworld who was strong enough to challenge All Might, and Destro, the leader of a terrorist army that was able to oppose various governments for several years. Nothing is currently known about Oji’s Quirk, however, given his reputation as one of the most infamous villains in history, it is likely that he is very powerful.

8. Destro (Chikara Yotsubashi)

Chikara Yotsubashi Anime

Chikara’s abilities are largely unknown, however, he has been compared to the extremely powerful All For One. Chikara was the Supreme Commander of the Super Power Liberation Army who opposed a number of nations for several years until his final defeat. Chikara’s Quirk type and abilities are unknown. It’s probably similar to his son’s Quirk, which allows him to turn frustration and stress into raw power.

7. Re-Destro (Rikiya Yotsubashi)

Rikiya27s flattering personality

Being the leader of the Liberation Army, Rikiya is a highly respected and one of the most powerful villains from My Hero Academia with very proficient handling of his Ability. Facing the formidable villain Twice and the clones the latter creates using his Quirk, Rikiya stood up and sent Twice down nonchalantly while at the same time dispatching the clones he created.

In Stress form of him, Rikiya was able to defeat Tomura the leader of the League of Villains as well as destroy most of the latter’s left hand. Even when Tomura was experiencing an awakening and increased physical fitness, Rikiya was still able to surpass Tomura; Bringing his Meta ability to a higher output, Rikiya sent Tomura flying through Deika City.

Rikiya was previously the Grand Commander of the new Liberation Army. A military force consisting of more than 100,000 members. He is very charismatic, giving speeches about his father’s ideology and getting all the members to follow him.

All members of the Super Power Liberation Army respected him as a leader and are extremely loyal to him. Even after Rikiya stepped down as the leader and Tomura Shigaraki took his place as the General Commander of the new Paranormal Liberation Front, his followers remain loyal to him.

6. Kurogiri

Tomura and Kurogiri comment on the news about Stain

One of Kurogiri’s main abilities is evasion, facilitated by his body’s gaseous constitution. She was able to defeat No. 13 with little effort, showing a high level of combat. Kurogiri’s Quirk allows him to create and manipulate a dark fog that acts as a portal, being able to transport everything that comes into contact with it to a nearby place or if he has the exact position of it, he can do it far away.

5. Gigantomachia

Gigantomachia is crying

Gigantomachia has incredibly powerful strength, capable of serving for years as All For One’s personal bodyguard, even without being modified with multiple Quirks. During a battle with Gran Torino and several officers, she not only forced the veteran hero to retreat but also punched a gaping hole in the side of a mountain. He was able to take on the combined forces of Tomura’s League of Villains with ease and defeat them.

Even after fighting nonstop for a month, half of the League of Villains could barely move forward to defeat him. Gigantomachia has extraordinary stamina, taking virtually no damage after a battle with the League of Villains and showing only minor discomfort from being bathed in Dabi’s fire. Gigantomachia could fight his way through a large portion of the Liberation Army unscathed despite being attacked from all sides.

4. Chisaki Kai

Overhaul advises the League of Villains to join him

Chisaki has proven to be a very powerful enemy. Although he does not have great physical prowess he is very skilled in close combat with the use of his Quirk. In the past, he defeated Kendo Rappa, who is noted for his superhuman physical strength, in a single attack and also defeated him five other times. Kendo himself stated that Chisaki is the strongest of the Shie Hassaikai, this was proven when it took the efforts of Mirio, Sir Nighteye, and Izuku Midoriya (with Eri’s help) to defeat him.

Chisaki is noted for his great intelligence and ability to create plans. Upon investigation, he discovered the Quirk factor and how to eradicate it using Eri as his main weapon. He was able to create anti-Quirk bullets with little time and resources although his effect was not permanent so they were not perfect yet.

He took a month to create his perfect boon eradicator bullets, although there were only five of them he stated that with ideal conditions and sufficient capital it would take them less time to create their bullets and in greater quantity. He also thought of a plan to use the League of Villains to expand his influence and become more recognized due to the great fame of that group.

3. Tomura Shigaraki

Tomura27s face

Tomura is known as Japan’s second most dangerous villain after All For One himself, who rivals Pro Heroes with his physical and analytical skills. As the leader of the League of Villains, Tomura has complete control over his powerful subordinates.

During the U.S.J. Incident, Tomura had the courage to briefly face the awesome Pro Hero Eraser Head and successfully use his Decay Quirk on the Erasure Hero’s right arm. Tomura was able to fight Gigantomachia for half a month and didn’t give up until he was able to get the giant to submit.

By the time he faced Re-Destro and his left hand was partially destroyed, Tomura’s abilities had suddenly increased to levels beyond his natural parameters.

According to Re-Destro, if Tomura had his newly high physical parameters during the Kamino incident, he could easily have eliminated at least one or two of the Pro Heroes during this event, even without his disintegrating Quirk. After a fierce battle, he not only managed to defeat Re-Destro to gain control of his army but also tame Gigantomachia through his performance.

Similar to his master, Tomura’s aura can instill fear in others, and his mere gaze was enough to cripple those who were under the influence of Incite, who had been ordered to eliminate Tomura. After Kyudai Garaki makes body modifications to Tomura, his overall skills surpass any Pro Hero to the point where his powers are on par with Toshinori Yagi when the latter had One For All.

2. Nine

Nine close shot

Due to having multiple Quirks, Nine was an extremely powerful villain, able to compete with and overpower many of the top students in Class 1-A. However, due to the cost of his Quirk, he was unable to fight prolonged battles. He was also able to overpower the likes of Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo over and over again.

Possibly due to All for One’s heritage, Nine possessed very impressive durability. He managed to survive a direct hit to the face from Izuku’s blow with no visible damage and was able to continue fighting Izuku and Katsuki despite the immense pain he felt. Even after being hit squarely by Katsuki’s explosion enhanced by One For All, he managed to survive although he was on the verge of death and his entire upper body seemed to have been destroyed.

1. All For One

All For One speaks to All Might

All For One is Japan’s most powerful supervillain and the most powerful villain in My Hero Academia in general. Thanks to his Life Force Quirk, All For One is virtually immortal and has been active since the inception of Quirks. He has collected lots of Quirks with a huge range of applications and can combine them at will. This, along with his ability to steal all of his opponent’s quirks, makes defeating All For One nearly impossible.

The villain will use all means necessary to bless his opponent before killing him. Even in his prime, All For One effortlessly defeated powerful Pro Heroes, allowing himself to appear unequaled and unstoppable. The only people who can effectively counter the Symbol of Evil are the heirs of One For All, a Quirk All For One himself accidentally created, and the one Quirk he can’t steal.

All For One searched for all of the One For All users (except Hikage Shinomori) and easily killed them by overwhelming them with his barrage of quirks. However, All For One was unable to steal One For All or prevent the user from passing the course.

Still, All For One remained unchallenged until the rise of All Might. All Might had the strength to challenge All For One, and the two adversaries engaged in a bloody duel. Despite crippling injuries, All Might was able to defeat All For One and force the villain to rely on life support.
