My Hero Academia: 10 Main Characters (Ranked)
My Hero Academia introduces us to a number of extremely interesting characters. Despite the fact that all of the main characters are described in-depth and we have a pretty good grasp of who they are, the most interesting part of the show may be their powers. So how do the main characters rank when it comes to their quirks?
If you are looking for such a list keep reading this article since this it briefly describes everyone’s quirks and skills and ranks them in relation to the other characters in the universe. Let’s dive into our list of 10 main characters from My Hero Academia.
10. Tsuyu Asui
Froppy is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, preparing to become a Pro Hero. Tsuyu Asui, is also known as the Rainy Season Hero. Although she may seem like a background character once you get introduced to her, she quickly establishes herself as an important and prominent character.
Tsuyu has shown that she is a competent person. Tsuyu is skilled in both close and long-range fighting thanks to her Quirk’s frog-based skills. She uses a combat style that combines agility and powerful leaps to dodge, ambush, and confuse her enemies, as well as improved leg strength to deliver powerful kicks.
Tsuyu can also subdue her enemies by wrestling or whipping them with her elongated tongue. Additionally, she excels in underwater settings, as her frog-like anatomy allows her to swim freely without losing strength or stamina, as most people do.
She’s skilled at battling and/or saving victims underwater, making her a valuable asset for missions that need her to do so. Tsuyu also has a strong sense of camaraderie, mixing her own Quirk skills with those of everyone she is partnered with.
Tsuyu is a brilliant student with few flaws who can help everyone, including strong characters like Izuku Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki, Fumikage Tokoyami, and Tenya Ida.
Her overall abilities place her among the class’s most capable female students. All of these abilities come from her quirk which allows her to acquire certain physical abilities of a frog. She even made it onto our list of most powerful My Hero Academia Girls.
9. Momo Yaoyorozu
Momo Yaoyorozu, also known as All Hero: Creati, is the Vice President of Class 1-A at U.A. High School, where she was accepted on the basis of official recommendations and is currently pursuing her dream of becoming a Pro Hero.
As a recommended student, has a high degree of fighting ability. Her abilities secured her first place in the Quirk Apprehension Test, a remarkable feat given nearly every one of her classmates scored superhuman on at least one of the eight measures.
During the U.A. Sports Festival, Momo was able to hold her own against Fumikage Tokoyami for a brief period of time, and she did the same against Itsuka Kendo in the second match of the Joint Training Fight, but she lost both times.
Momo’s Quirk allows her to transform the molecular structure of her fat cells to produce some non-living substance or entity from her exposed skin. In order to produce something, she must first comprehend the molecular structure of the substance or entity.
She needs a lot of food to make her Quirk work and the more she drinks, the more content she has to work with. However, creating large objects takes her longer and exposes more skin, to the point that she pushes large objects through her costume, shredding it, despite her claims that she can simply fix it.
This part of her Quirk may also account for her slim figure, as she uses her body’s fat to produce items on a regular basis. It’s also likely that this is a major flaw, that if she creates too much without replenishing her calories, she’ll become weak and anemic.
Momo ate a lot of food as part of her preparation to improve the effectiveness of her Quirk and cut down on the time it took to make objects.
8. Tenya Ida
Tenya Ida, also known as Turbo Hero: Ingenium, is the Class 1-A representative at U.A. High School, where he is pursuing her dream of being a Pro Hero. In My Hero Academia, he is one of the main characters.
Tenya has consistently shown that he is a formidable opponent. His abilities won him 4th place in the Quirk Apprehension Test, 6th place in the U.A. Entrance Exam, and 4th place in the U.A. Sports Festival, though he would have qualified for 3rd place if he had stayed for the closing ceremony.
Tenya is known as one of the fastest students in Class 1-A thanks to his Quirk, and he uses his enhanced speed to complement his combat style, which includes strong, high-speed kicks that can even crush metal.
Tenya used his amazing pace and fast reflexes to defeat Ibara Shiozaki, one of Class 1-B’s most formidable students, and came close to defeating Shoto Todoroki, one of Class 1-A’s most formidable students, but the latter blindsided Tenya by freezing his mufflers before encasing Tenya in ice.
Tenya’s superior pace has been noted by Shoto and Izuku, two of their class’s most powerful students. Despite Izuku’s training to keep up with Tenya, Shoto is still unable to keep up with all of Tenya’s high-speed movements.
Tenya’s Quirk gives him car-like engines in each of his calves, allowing him to sprint at incredible speeds and kick with incredible force. Tenya needs to drink orange juice to keep his engines running.
Tenya’s engines have several gears; the exact number is uncertain at this time, although more than three have been suggested. To work properly, his Quirk, like a real engine, requires that the exhaust pipes on the backs of his legs remain clear of obstructions.
7. Fumikage Tokoyami
Fumikage Tokoyami who is also known as the Jet-Black Hero: Tsukuyomi, is a U.A. High School student in Class 1-A who is studying to become a Pro Hero.
Fumikage is a small young man with a black bird’s head, probably resembling that of a crow or raven. He has a tan, yellowish beak with a small black pupil on either side of his head, thin, red eyes with a small black pupil, and a red choker that he seldom removes.
Despite the shape of his head, his body appears to be that of a regular human, with fair skin. Fumikage has gained muscle mass as a result of his internship training with the Hawks.
Fumikage’s abilities qualified him to place 9th in the U.A. Entrance Exam, fifth in the Quirk Apprehension Test, and third in the U.A. Sports Festival, despite getting the fifth-highest amount of villain points.
He is a master of his Quirk: Dark Shadow, which he employs for attack and protection, agility enhancement, and even rescue missions. Several well-known and influential characters, such as All Might and Shoto, have praised Fumikage’s skills.
Several popular and influential characters, such as All Might and Shoto, have praised Fumikage’s skills.
Fumikage’s Quirk enables him to summon a sentient shadow beast from his body, which he can openly materialize and contract. Dark Shadow has a finite amount of energy that can be depleted by bright light. Dark Shadow retracts into Fumikage’s body when it runs out of steam.
The lack of light affects the shadow monster’s personality, stamina, defense, and power. Dark Shadow is weaker and smaller in bright light, but he still has a lot of strength and defense, and he’s easier to handle.
Dark Shadow is far larger in complete darkness, giving it much greater strength and protection. It’s strong enough to easily rip out and cut down several full-grown trees, but, on the other hand, is more difficult to manage in the dark, allowing it to go on a spree of its own volition.
6. Katsuki Bakugo
Katsuki Bakugo, also known as Kacchan by his childhood friends, and his hero name Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight, is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School who is pursuing his dream of being a Pro Hero. He serves as the series’ deuteragonist.
Katsuki has proved to be one of Class 1-A’s most capable students, ranking third in the Quirk Apprehension Test and first in both the U.A. Entrance Exam and the U.A. Sports Festival, with the most villain points.
Katsuki’s combat style is an all-out assault, relying on Quirk’s propulsion abilities to close the gap between him and his opponents, then unleashing a barrage of close-range attacks, which often begin with a powerful right hook. Katsuki will use his Explosion to launch himself through the air, blind enemies, and fire long-range blasts, among other things.
When Katsuki is using 5% of One For All, he is powerful enough to battle Izuku toe-to-toe and even overpowers him. Katsuki demonstrated that, despite the cold weather conditions of the winter season undermining his Quirk, he can still fight effectively during the Joint Training Arc.
As he uses his powers to repel enemies who overwhelm his allies, Katsuki has become slightly less insubordinate when partnered with people and has developed a sense of camaraderie.
Katsuki’s Quirk allows him to secrete nitroglycerin-like sweat from his palms and instruct it to fire, allowing him to create powerful explosions. Katsuki’s explosions get more powerful as he sweats. Katsuki’s forearms will start to hurt if he uses this power too often.
Katsuki’s forearms will start to hurt if he uses this power too often.
Katsuki has a firm grip on the applications of his Quirk, which Best Jeanist, a top Pro Hero, recognized.
Katsuki can use the explosions not only to strike but also to propel himself and maneuver through the air at high speeds, allowing him to fly at his enemies without giving them time to respond, as well as dodge incoming attacks. He can also use the shockwaves from his explosion as a shield.
5. Izuku Midoriya
Izuku Midoriya or Deku as he is often referred to is the main character of My Hero Academia manga and anime series.
Despite the fact that Izuku was born Quirkless, his inherent heroism and a deep sense of justice drew the attention of the legendary hero All Might, and he has since been his close pupil as well as a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School.
Izuku became the ninth holder of One For All after All Might passed on his transferable Quirk to him. With Tomura Shigaraki and All For One deliberately targeting Izuku for his Quirk following the Paranormal Liberation War, he decided to leave U.A. before completing his first year to keep his classmates safe. He’s still out there fighting the bad guys.
Izuku has narrowly beaten Bakugo as the most powerful U.A. student, thanks to his ability to use One For All in a variety of ways, including routine Smash attacks, Shoot Style, and Full Cowling, among others. His unwavering commitment to going Plus Ultra has helped him to defeat Muscular and even Overhaul.
All for one Izuku’s Quirk, which he received from Toshinori Yagi, allows him to store a massive amount of raw strength, enabling him to greatly boost all of his physical abilities to superhuman levels. Results, you’ll have incredible strength, pace, stamina, agility, and As a result, you’ll have incredible strength, pace, stamina, agility, and endurance.
Izuku can concentrate the stored power in a single body part or distribute it equally across his entire body; however, concentrating the power in a single body part puts more pressure on that part of his body.
Izuku can concentrate the stored power in a single body part or distribute it equally across his entire body; however, concentrating the power in a single body part puts more pressure on that part of his body. He can also choose which percentage of his total power he uses. He can now manage 45 percent of his maximum strength without breaking any bones, with 30 percent being his usual performance.
4. Shoto Todoroki
Shoto Todoroki, also known as Shoto, is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, where he was accepted on the basis of official recommendations and is currently pursuing his dream of becoming a Pro Hero. He is the series’ tritagonist and the youngest son of Endeavor, the No. 1 Hero.
Shoto joined U.A. High School on the strength of recommendations after being educated by his father, Endeavor, from a young age. He has since developed himself as one of the best students in Class 1-A.
He came in second place in both the Quirk Apprehension Test and the University of Arizona Sports Festival. Shoto also has a firm grasp on his strong and flexible Quirk, Half-Cold Half-Hot, which gives him amazing dual-element skills.
He can dramatically lower temperatures and freeze anything he touches with his right hand, as well as create ice that he can freely shape into a variety of structures, such as ice waves that cover vast areas and ice barriers.
Shoto’s Quirk allows him to produce ice on his right side and fire on his left. Shoto has formed a habit of preferring ice, even though fire would be a better choice, as a result of years of rejection from his father.
He struggled to contain his fire as a result of his grudge. He is capable of using both elements at the same time, but he isn’t used to it and needs to practice dual-wielding. He believed that using both abilities at the same time slows him down when preparing for his ultimate move.
If he uses one part too much without using the other, his body temperature will suffer; the ice half will cause frostbite, while the fire half will cause heatstroke. Neither has any noticeable impact on his body before he reaches his bodily limit.
Shoto had to sit in a barrel of water and switch between using ice and fire to control the temperature of the water as part of his training. It helped his body adjust to the cold and taught him how to handle his flames better.
3. Tomura Shigaraki
After his master, All For One is defeated and arrested, Tomura Shigaraki, (also known by his real name Tenko Shimura) becomes the leader of the League of Villains and the series’ main antagonist. He made his first major appearance as one of the U.S.J. Arc’s main antagonists.
His aim, like that of the rest of the League, is to assassinate All Might, the “Symbol of Peace,” thereby destroying the society he serves and establishing a new one based on his own vision of justice.
Tomura later changed his intention to annihilate civilization as a whole rather than reshape it. He became Grand Commander of the Paranormal Liberation Front after merging his group with the Meta Liberation Army, and later inherited the All For One Quirk.
Tomura is regarded as one of Japan’s most dangerous villains, capable of fighting alongside Pro Heroes due to his physical and analytical abilities. Tomura has complete control over his influential subordinates as the leader of the League of Villains.
Tomura is regarded as one of Japan’s most dangerous villains, capable of fighting alongside Pro Heroes due to his physical and analytical abilities. Tomura has complete control over his influential subordinates as the leader of the League of Villains.
With all five fingers, his Quirk causes him to disintegrate anything he touches. If the goal is organic or not, it will have an impact. If the victim does not amputate the rotting body component, the disintegration will spread across the victim’s entire body. His Quirk has the ability to extend beyond what he touches, enabling him to immediately disintegrate large numbers of enemies.
Since the Quirk must be enabled by touching a solid object, it can be countered by manipulating fluids or particles, such as Snatch’s sand body.
Tomura’s quirk became considerably more strong after his surgery, enabling him to decay nearly a third of Jaku City. Furthermore, the power of Decay grew to the point that being struck by a stray piece of rotting rubble was enough to kill a human.
Tomura not only increased Decay’s strength, but he also gained a greater level of control over it, enabling him to select the goals his Decay would miss, which he used to save some of the Nomu.
His master’s original version of All For One is his second Quirk. It gives him the ability to take other people’s quirks and pass them off as his own. This Quirk, like its counterpart Quirk One For All, retains the relics of its previous wielder’s will and consciousness.
Unlike One For All, however, the vestigial will of its previous wielder tries to usurp Tomura’s body by exploiting his negative emotions such as rage and hatred. Rather than being symbiotic, the relationship becomes parasitic, allowing the elder Shigaraki’s vestigial consciousness to take over.
2. Mirio Togata
Mirio Togata, also known as Lemillion, is a member of The Big 3 and a student in Class 3-B at U.A. High School. Before he met Izuku Midoriya, Mirio was the front-runner to succeed All Might and become the inheritor of One For All.
Along with Nejire Hado and Tamaki, Mirio is regarded as one of U.A. High School’s most influential students. Mirio, in particular, has gained considerable acclaim as a result of a combination of exceptional technique, great fighting abilities, and a charismatic personality, to the point that he was considered a candidate for the top spot among Pro Heroes and, at one point, a possible replacement for All Might as a wielder of One For All.
Sir Nighteye, All Might’s former sidekick, took notice of Mirio’s abilities and personally educated him about the elite status the young hero now holds. Mirio is completely unrivaled in combat due to his mastery of prediction, inhuman physical abilities, and amazing Quirk.
With a single punch, the phase-shifter defeated eighteen of Class 1-A’s twenty students, including some of the school’s elite students (excluding Shoto Todoroki, who felt unworthy of participating in the match against Mirio due to not having his Provisional Hero License at the time, and Katsuki Bakugo, who was still under house arrest), who had all fought real villains.
Mirio’s Quirk causes him to become invisible, allowing him to pass through any solid object; he can phase through walls and/or the ground, as well as allowing enemy attacks to pass harmlessly through him. His body would be repelled outward if he returns to his solid state while phasing through something.
He has a dropping feeling while invisible because he still has mass and everything moves through him, including light, sound, and air; this means he can’t see, hear, or breathe while his Quirk is involved.
He struggled with his Quirk at first due to all of the strict restrictions and many small steps involved in using it, but after working with Sir Nighteye, he was able to master it.
Mirio lost his Quirk during a battle with Overhaul in which he was hit by a Quirk-Destroying Bullet intended for Eri. Eri had mastered her Rewind Quirk by the time of the Paranormal Liberation War, approximately six months after the Shie Hassaikai Raid, enabling her to restore Mirio’s Permeation Quirk.
1. All Might
The most powerful on our list of main Characters from My Hero Academia is Toshinori Yagi, better known by his hero name All Might, who is the tritagonist of My Hero Academia and the Hideout Raid Arc’s arc protagonist. All Might was once the world’s Symbol of Peace and the former No. 1 Pro Hero. At U.A. High School, he teaches Foundational Hero Studies.
After receiving the One For All Quirk from Nana Shimura, All Could become the eighth holder. He has since transferred the baton to Izuku Midoriya, whom he is grooming to succeed him. After defeating All For One with the embers of One For All, All Might retired and ended his era as the world’s greatest hero.
All Might was regarded as the world’s most powerful hero. He was the Symbol of Peace and such a deterrent to crime that his involvement in society largely discouraged criminals.
He was the only consumer of One For All who was able to beat All For One, a deadly supervillain who once dominated all of Japan centuries ago and is remembered as Japan’s most powerful villain, twice.
Despite winning, All Might was severely injured by All For One, which limited his full power output in the future. Even after Quirk’s power was hampered by his injuries, All Might’s strength and pace were unrivaled, even though he could only use it for a short time.
After he transferred his Quirk onto Izuku, the time limit grew shorter and shorter. Even so, All Might was capable of defeating villains on his own that groups of ordinary Pro-Heroes couldn’t.
All Might defeated Nomu, who was designed specifically to destroy him, with over 300 blows by pushing his strength beyond its acceptable limits. In their battle, All Could absolutely dominant Izuku and Katsuki, two of Class 1-A’s elites.
