Muzan vs Daki: Who Would Win and Why?

Continuing with our comparisons of Demon Slayer characters, we have, once again, decided to focus on two demons. In this article, we are going to compare the powers and abilities of one Muzan Kibutsuji, the leader of the demons, and Daki, one of the Twelve Kizuki. Although paired up with her brother, Gyutaro, Daki was exceptionally loyal to Muzan and out of all the Kizuki, she probably loved him the most. Here, we shall examine if she would win in a fight against him or not.
As the most powerful demon in Demon Slayer, Muzan Kibutsuji is undoubtedly stronger than Daki. Not only do his powers surpass the powers of all the Kizuki, let alone the Upper Moon Six, but the fact that Daki was an Upper Moon only because she depended on the powers of her brother also means that Daki was much weaker than the other Upper Moons, which makes Muzan’s win even clearer.
Now that you have the short version of the answer, the rest of the article is going to be divided into three sections, with the first two introducing the characters, their powers, and their abilities. In the end, we’re going to give our final verdict and explanation on why Muzan is so overwhelmingly stronger than Daki.
Muzan Kibutsuji and his powers
Muzan Kibutsuji is the main antagonist of Demon Slayer. He is a Demon, being the first of his kind, who has lived for more than a thousand years, being as such, the one responsible for the origin of the other demons, responsible for having corrupted Michikatsu Tsukiguni and being the one who murdered Tanjirō’s family and attacked Nezuko, turning the latter into a Demon, being the trigger for Tanjirō’s desire for revenge towards him.
Overall
As the first Demon, Muzan’s powers surpass anything previously seen. Muzan is so strong that he was able to withstand confrontation with five Hashira and Tanjiro at the same time. After 30 minutes of combat, Muzan manifested whips from his legs, which increased his attack speed exponentially, to a point where he instantly defeated five exhausted Hashihra: Gyomei, Giyu, Sanemi, and Obanai, as well as Zenitsu and Inosuke at the same time, leaving Kanao paralyzed with fear and her sword broken.
It is later revealed that Muzan was getting slower and slower due to the effects of the aging medicine provided by Tamayo, which accelerated his age massively. Regardless, he was able to subdue the Hashihra that confronted him, as well as Tanjiro who was just learning how to use Sun Breathinng. His strength, speed, resistance and regeneration capacity are superior to any conventional demon, adding also his exclusive amount of unique abilities that he has; Below is a list of his powers.
Blood Demon Art
Muzan’s Blood Demon Art gives him powerful biokinetic abilities. Muzan has demonstrated the ability to alter and control his flesh, limbs, and even his organs. With his Blood Demon Art, Muzan can alter his facial features, replicate and move the organs in his body, create weapons from his flesh and bones, deform his entire torso into a giant mouth, or even create flesh puppets that he can control.
He can also split himself into hundreds of parts that can reassemble and regenerate into his full body. Muzan also has a very unique anatomy that he has achieved by manipulating and altering his own body characteristics. He possesses a total of seven hearts and five brains. These additional organs are apparently largely responsible for his exceptionally strong constitution and resistance to decapitation by Nichirin swords.
If, on the other hand, many of them were destroyed at the same time, he would be significantly weakened. In battle, Muzan usually forms his arms into long whip-like appendages as sharp as swords, and creates tubes and whips of bone and flesh from his spine and legs.
Shockwave Scream
Later, after being forced into a corner by Tanjiro and Obanai and weakened by Tamayo’s four-stage drug, Muzan showcased another unique ability of his Blood Demon Art, in which he transformed his torso into a gigantic bestial mouth. From there, it emitted a powerful shockwave scream, capable of seriously injuring anyone within its reach.
When Tanjiro and Obanai were caught in the blast, even Kiriya and her sisters, who were connected to them by the crows in the area, bore the brunt of the attack. This technique is capable of causing convulsions, paralysis and respiratory disorders. It is primarily used as a defensive technique, however, intended to ward off attackers.
This technique requires a cooldown before use and therefore cannot be used consecutively, although it is widely hinted that Tamayo’s medication further jeopardizes his ability to use this attack. Its impact can be lessened through the use of a Nichirin Sword, as self-stabbing can dispel some of its effects.
Daki and her powers
Daki is a character from the Demon Slayer franchise. She was a Demon who belonged to the Twelve Kizuki group, sharing the position of Upper Moon Six with her older brother Gyutaro.
Overall
Daki, being one of the Twelve Demon Moons, had power and abilities that were beyond the abilities of an average demon. She possessed regenerative abilities and strength superior to that of the rest of her progeny and being considered by Muzan Kibutsuji as “someone special”. Her abilities were shown after being able to subdue swordsmen of the caliber of Tanjiro, Inosuke, Zenitsu and Tengen, the latter a Hashira and also Nezuko, who was able to hold her off temporarily.
However her position and power as part of the Twelve Kizuki are due to her brother as she only serves as a complement to the latter’s powers. To better understand Daki’s level of strength, her brother Gyutaro mentions that she has killed and later devoured seven Hashira.
Blood Demon Art
Daki’s Blood Demon Art allows her to manipulate the floral-patterned Obi sashes she wears which are created from her flesh and blood. His belts are said to be as smooth as silk, but as sharp, if not sharper, than most Nichirin Blades. In battle, she shapes her flesh into dozens of belts to launch ranged attacks while shielding her body, making her belts a perfect blend of offense and defense.
Daki’s belts are so powerful that they can repel and block Tengen’s blast attacks and slice through buildings in an instant. They are particularly difficult to cut due to their flexibility, and can even dampen the effectiveness of slash-type attacks by bending. Her belts have a unique property that allows her to store objects, usually humans she wants to eat, inside her belts.
She traps them inside her belts by transforming the objects she wishes to store into flat 2-dimensional versions inside them, which allows her to be stealthy in her movements, as any opening or path wide enough for a belt to enter is an opening or path it can take.
To free someone from being trapped in the sashes, one must cut it while avoiding cutting the people trapped inside, immediately freeing anyone and returning them to their previous form. Daki uses this ability to store the humans she wishes to eat in an underground space to consume them later. Finally, Daki can turn her own neck into a belt to avoid being decapitated.
Muzan vs Daki: Who would win?
And now for the most important and interesting section of our article – the analysis. Here, we are going to use what we have found out about these two characters and analyze how all these facts would (or would not) help them in a fight against each other. Let us continue.
If you take even a glimpse at these two characters and compare them, you’ll notice that Daki is no challenge for Muzan at all. There are two main reasons for this, one on Muzan’s side, and the other one on Daki’s side. As for Muzan, he is simply the most powerful demon of and, behind only Yoriichi, the second most powerful character in the series. Although we could debate whether Kokushibo could’ve been able to kill Muzan, Muzan was able to control him, so he was more powerful on one level, at least.
His powers are, eve for a demon, truly amazing and Muzan is simply a level above all the other demons, even the more powerful ones like Doma or Akaza. The main reason why we opted for a descriptive article here is the fact that Muzan’s powers are so overwhelming and different in nature than Daki’s that their essential demonic traits would’ve been incomparable. He is, indeed, that much stronger.
As for Daki, the reason why she is no challenge for Muzan is the fact that she is, generally, no challenge at all, without Gyutaro, that is. Namely, Daki and Gyutaro were basically one and the same, and the siblings were the Upper Moon Six together. But, although Daki has some cool powers of her own, Gyutaro was the stronger sibling and it was thanks to him that Daki was actually immortal. Once he was gone, she was pretty much helpless, even against opponents that are much waker than Muzan.
All of this combined explains why Muzan wins this duel and why he is so overwhelmingly stronger than Daki.
