Netflix’s live-action ‘One Piece‘ has spent two seasons proving that a beloved manga and anime can survive the jump to live action without losing its heart, humor, or scale. Since debuting in 2023, the series has become one of the streamer’s biggest success stories, pulling in massive global viewership and expanding its cast with every new voyage.

With Season 2, subtitled ‘Into the Grand Line,’ having wrapped earlier this year, attention had already shifted toward where the Straw Hats would sail next. That destination is Alabasta, the desert kingdom central to one of the most beloved arcs in the entire ‘One Piece’ story, and fans have spent months waiting to see who would bring its key characters to life.

That wait ended during the ONE PIECE DAY ’26 stage show in Tokyo, where Netflix confirmed four new additions to the Season 3 cast. Emilio Sakraya has been cast as Koza, Omid Abtahi will play Toto, Jamie Ward takes on the role of Pell, and Nabeel Khan rounds out the group as Chaka.

Sakraya, known for ‘Rheingold’ and ‘Those About to Die,’ steps into the role of Koza, Princess Vivi’s childhood friend and the leader of the Alabasta Rebel Forces. Abtahi, a familiar face from ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘American Gods,’ will play Toto, a village elder from Yuba and Koza’s father figure within the resistance.

Ward, recognizable from ‘The Gentlemen’ and ‘His Dark Materials,’ has landed the role of Pell, widely regarded as one of Alabasta’s strongest warriors and a head guard of the kingdom. Khan, who previously appeared in ‘Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom,’ joins as Chaka, the kingdom’s second head guard and acting captain of the royal guard.

These four join a wave of newcomers already confirmed for the season, including Cole Escola as Bon Clay, Xolo Maridueña as Portgas D. Ace, Daisy Head as Miss Doublefinger, and Awdo Awdo as Mr. 1. Together, they’ll help bring to life a story built around civil war, betrayal, and a kingdom pushed to the brink.

The core Straw Hat crew is sailing back for Season 3 as well, with Iñaki Godoy reprising Monkey D. Luffy, alongside Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Charithra Chandran also returns as Princess Vivi, a role that becomes especially central once the Straw Hats reach her homeland.

Joe Manganiello, Lera Abova, and Sendhil Ramamurthy are back as well, reprising Crocodile, Miss All Sunday, and King Cobra respectively, alongside Mikaela Hoover as Chopper. According to Netflix’s official description of the season, war is brewing in Alabasta, secretly fueled by Crocodile and his criminal syndicate Baroque Works as they attempt to seize the kingdom for themselves.

Season 3, officially titled ‘One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta,’ has already wrapped production in Cape Town, South Africa, positioning the show for a smoother turnaround than some fans may have expected. Netflix has confirmed the season is set to arrive in 2027, giving audiences a clear runway to prepare for one of the most emotionally significant arcs in the franchise’s history.

For a fandom that has closely tracked every casting reveal since the series’ first season, this latest wave of additions signals that the show is fully committed to doing justice to Alabasta’s sprawling ensemble. With production wrapped and a cast now largely in place, the countdown to the next chapter of the Straw Hats’ journey has officially begun.
