Only Murders In The Building Star Selena Gomez Opens Up About The Upcoming Season 2

Hulu’s whodunit comedy series Only Murders in the Building premiered last August and it received critical acclaim. Created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman, the series is starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez as the main trio — Charles-Haden, Oliver, and Mabel – which tries to solve a murder mystery. The first season ended on quite a note. After it started with a murder, it ended with — a murder, for which the main trio was arrested. Thankfully, Hulu renewed the series for the second season ahead of the first season’s finale, so we can be sure this huge cliffhanger will be resolved and explained.

The second season of the series is now in production. It was recently announced that Cara Delevingne will join the cast in the second season, and Selena Gomez, who plays Mabel, now gave us first teases about the second season and the future of her character.

“Another season was casually thrown around but then John started spewing these ideas out and sure enough they have come into fruition. When I was reading it, I was really, really shocked because this is so different but it’s what makes the show so great. They did such a great job creating another story. […] It’s cool because personally in my life, since I started Season 1 to doing Season 2, I changed so much. I know that it’s a small amount of time, but I think it kind of carried on into [her character] Mabel. If anything, there’s just more of a sophistication to her. Her style gets better. She’s like super cool. I cut my hair. So it’s a whole fresh start for Mabel.” — Selena Gomez for Variety

Only Murders in the Building Season 2 release date is still TBA. It is expected to premiere this year.
