The newest Pokémon video game, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, might be set in the past, but it still brings us more than enough new Pokémon, new game mechanics, and new twists on well-known elements, that make it an excellent game. Pokémon Legends: Arceus revamps some old gaming aspects that we have been used to in the past and one of them is Evolution. While the basic principle remained the same, Pokémon Legends: Arceus introduced several new twists, and we are going to talk about one of them in this article. Here, you will find out where to find the mysterious Black Augurite and how to get it.
The Black Augurite is an evolutionary item found in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. It can be found randomly while riding Ursaluna, it can be dropped randomly by a wild Graveler, or it can be found on the ground in Space-Time Distortion Zones. Be sure to pick up all items you find there, since most of them are useful in one way or the other.

You’re going to find out how to find the enigmatic Black Augurite which is used to evolve certain Pokémon, and where it can be found in the newest Pokémon Legends: Arceus video game.
Where to find Black Augurite in Pokémon Legends: Arceus?
The Black Augurite is officially described as “a glassy black stone that produces a sharp cutting edge when split. It’s loved by a certain Pokémon.” The stone is actually an Evolutionary Item used to evolve your Scyther into Kleavor, Sycther’s newest evolution from the Hisui Region. In the Hisui region, special minerals cause Scyther to evolve into Kleavor. Parts of Kleavor’s body have hardened into stone. During vigorous combat, said petrified parts sometimes break off, leaving Axantor who have fought many battles with visible marks on their bodies.
However, this also makes the remaining stone axes sharper, greatly increasing their cutting power. It is said that the people of the Hisui region once used the stone fragments that fall from the bodies of the Kleavor to make tools. Even a slight swing of one of Kleavor’s two long, ax-like arms can inflict devastating damage. In addition to fighting, Kleavor also uses its arms to carve symbols into tree stumps or even chop down entire trees to mark its territory.
So far, Scyther is the only known Pokémon that uses this item to evolve. The item is somewhat rare to locate but don’t worry, we have played Pokémon Legends: Arceus and are here to help.
Locating Items in Pokémon games can be a complex procedure that requires a lot of investigation and patience. This is especially true for newer games, which require a lot more effort from the player than the old Generation I games (where Items were either received, bought, or found lying around in Pokéballs, which were quite obvious to spot). In the newer games, you have to use items to find items and keep an eye out for very subtle clues of an item being somewhere. On top of that, some items are extremely rare to find. The Black Augurite is not that rare, but you won’t actually find it lying around like a regular Pokéball.
So, where can you find a Black Augurite? There’s only one specific location where it can be found, but even then – finding it is not guaranteed. Namely, Black Augurites can sometimes be found on the ground in Space-Time Distortion Zones, but as we have said, the rate is pretty random and you have to be very attentive. Be sure to pick up all items you find there because even if you don’t find a Black Augurite, you’ll be able to turn a profit on most of the found items since they’re pretty rare and quite valuable.
Now that we have cleared the location-based aspect of this item – is there some other way of locating a Black Augurite in Pokémon Legends: Arceus? There is. In fact, there are two of them, but they don’t have anything to do with a location and are completely random. They also seem to be less common than the above-mentioned one. Let us see what they are.
How to get Black Augurite in Pokémon Legends: Arceus?
As we have said, there are two ways of obtaining a Black Augurite that are not based on your location. The first one involves Ursaluna, the Hisuian evolution of Ursaring. Ursaring evolves into Ursaluna when exposed to a Peat Block during a full moon. Ursaluna is a stocky and bear-like Pokémon. Its strong, broad body is supported by four clawed paws. Ursaluna is primarily covered in dark brown fur, while its dense coat of fur around the shoulders is grey-brown. In its Shiny form, its fur is reddish-brown. Furthermore, Ursaluna is characterized by a honey-colored snout and a large, circular decorative spot on its forehead, which is reminiscent of the full moon.
Ursaluna was discovered in the swampy conditions of Hisui. It is characterized by great physical strength, with which it faces opponents, for example by means of a risk tackle or a smasher. It is also known for its extremely good sense of smell, which enables it to locate objects and food buried in the ground at a distance. The Ground-type Pokémon manipulates ground at will.
While riding your Ursaluna, you can Dig for items and randomly find some valuable ones, especially Evolution Stones. It is recommended to Dig for items as often as you can to obtain Black Augurite, which can be done, as we have explained, by riding Ursaluna. Doing this may increase your chance of obtaining other Evolution items as well, which can be used to evolve other Pokemon. The other way is by battling and defeating a Graveler. Graveler is a well-known Generation I Pokémon. Graveler prefer rocky locations such as caves or ruins, but can also be found on normal routes in tall grass if they are near a mountain. This Pokémon is quite undemanding when it comes to its habitat and is native to all known regions. But they prefer to stay on steep rocky outcrops and roll down mountain trails for most of the day.
Since its legs are not really suitable for walking, it moves mainly by rolling. If it really gets going, it can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h. It flattens all obstacles that are in its way. If it rolls too fast, it slows down by rolling against massive rocks. It doesn’t care if pieces break out of it as it rolls down mountains, as it fills those gaps with new rocks. Graveler generally grows by feeding on rocks. It prefers stones that are covered with moss. This Pokémon eats a ton of rocks every day, making a loud crunching noise.
In search of food, Graveler climbs from the base of a mountain to its summit, crushing the rock in the process. When it reaches the top, it rolls back down. In general, however, Graveler also like to dig into the ground and look for stones there. As a result, they leave large holes in the landscape.
Alolan Graveler feed primarily on tourmaline. The consumed particles turn into crystals that protrude from a part of the body. Its stone body is also imbued with strong magnetism. Layers of iron sand attach themselves to the places where this has a particularly strong effect. These Graveler regional forms compete for their rock food by clashing. When the collision occurs, there is a loud bang and light emanates.
Graveler doesn’t have a specific Hisuian form, so you’ll encounter your regular Kantonian Graveler in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. As we have said, Black Augurite can also be obtained by defeating or capturing a Graveler in Pokémon Legends: Arce. Graveler mostly appear when you use a Pokémon to interact with a shaking rock, so don’t forget to interact with it if you see one.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus – Black Augurite drop rate
The exact drop rate of Black Augurite in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is unknown. It can be dropped, as it seems for now, only by Graveler and the Pokémon doesn’t seem to do it very often. The exact numbers are known, but from our experience – it is not as common as you’d like it to be.
