‘Power Book II’: Ghost: What Is on the Flash Drive Saxe Gave to Junior? Theories Explained

Cooper Saxe is doing more harm to the St. Patricks after he died in Power Book II: Ghost than he did while he was alive. One of his annoying posthumous letters to Tariq’s enemies was sent to Angela Valdes’ nephew Junior who happens to be one of the St. Patricks biggest enemies. The letter contained a flash drive whose contents are still a mystery, and many fans can’t help but wonder what Saxe put in the flash drive that Junior received.
One of the biggest theories making rounds on the internet is that the flash drive contains evidence that Ghost is still alive. Now that would give Junior a renewed enthusiasm to bring down the family because he blames them for Angela’s death. However, having evidence of Ghost being alive would be giving Saxe too much credit, so it is safer to assume he just hid evidence that could bring down Tariq on the flash drive.
Angela lost her job as well as her benefits because she covered up Ray Ray’s murder in Power, and that is something Junior would never forgive the St. Patricks for. Still, Junior has endless reasons to bring down Tariq as he tries to fill his aunt’s shoes, but he should also remember that his aunt was no saint. So, could Saxe have set up Tariq’s biggest nightmare with that flash drive to Junior? Let’s look into that flash drive and why it could be the beginning of the end for Tariq.
Who is Junior in Power?
Angel “Junior” Young is portrayed by the American actor Kevin Tyler Rodriguez, famous for playing Clay in FBI: Most Wanted and Miguel in the 2023 movie Grown.
His character, Junior, in the Power universe is the son of Paz Valdes, the sister to Angela Valdes, who was the federal prosecutor in Power and also James “Ghost” St. Patrick’s lover.
Junior was first introduced in the sixth season of Power after Angela’s death when he mourned her alongside his mother.
He hated Ghost for ruining the Valdes family because he caused Angela to lose her job as well as her pension and benefits, which were supposed to pay for Junior’s studies.
Junior tried to kill Ghost in Power’s sixth season, but he was stopped by Paz, who didn’t want to lose him after losing her sister.
Ghost left Paz money in his will, which ensured that Junior would be able to go to school, and therefore became a DEA agent, as revealed in Power Book II: Ghost.
Junior works alongside Detective Blanca, the lead detective in the case against Ghost before he was killed.
In the final episode of Ghost’s third season, Paz Valdes brought Junior the posthumous letter from Cooper Saxe.
Paz also congratulated Junior for following in Angela’s footsteps and becoming a DEA agent.
When Junior opened the envelope, he found a flash drive, and fans suspected that it contained evidence that could incriminate Tariq St. Patrick.
However, it is also possible that the flash drive contains evidence of Junior being Angela’s son, which would give him more motivation to kill Tariq for killing their father.
Saxe already got a video of Tariq confessing to Ghost’s murder, he only lacked a way to use it against Tariq, and Junior may just be the person to do it.
Does the flash drive contain evidence that Ghost is alive?
Despite fans being obsessed with Ghost coming back to Power, both Starz and Omari Hardwick have confirmed that Ghost is really dead.
However, the circumstances surrounding Saxe’s mysterious reinstatement in the prosecutors’ office after Ghost’s death suggest that he had some important information regarding Ghost that he traded in exchange for getting his job back.
However, Ghost being alive is not information that puts Tariq in danger, and the trend of Saxe’s letters was to get people to try and kill Tariq and the St. Patrick family.
The flash drive he sent to Junior, therefore, likely contains more evidence that will cause Junior to work hard at bringing down the St. Patricks.
Our working theory is that Saxe had evidence that Angela was his mom and that Tariq and Tasha had a hand in her death.
Since Junior loved Angela so much, he will do his best to Ruin Tariq and Tasha if he thinks that he killed his mother.
Saxe went as far as lying in his letters as he did with the one he sent to Monet to get people to go against Tariq.
Therefore, his flash drive to Junior could also contain fabricated evidence against Tariq, especially regarding the murders at the Castillo house or other cases that Junior can use against Tariq.
Whatever the flash drive contains, the one fact about it is that it is not good for Tariq.
Will Junior bring down Tariq?
Junior is focused on filling his aunt’s shoes by bringing criminals like Tariq to book, but he has more reasons to help Tariq rather than actually bring him down.
Ghost’s money was used to take Junior to school, which means he actually benefitted more from Ghost’s fortune than Tariq.
Junior could also be Angela’s son and in a bigger twist, Ghost’s son, making him Tariq’s brother.
Furthermore, Junior’s war is against the person that killed Angela, which is Tommy and not Tariq.
However, Junior is not aware of all the circumstances that led to Angela’s death, so he might go against Tariq in the short term.
When he finally learns that Tariq is not his enemy and not the monster that Jenny and Blanca paint him to be, Junior will likely abandon his ambition to bring down Tariq.
