According to Gunn’s own words, more than 90 % of cast for ‘Superman: Legacy’ is locked in. The cast includes David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl. Edi Gathegi will play Michael Holt/Mister Terrific, and Nathan Fillion will take on the role of Guy Gardner/Green Lantern. Anthony Carrigan is Rex Mason/Metamorpho, María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica/Engineer, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Sara Sampaio will portray Eve Teschmacher, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen and Sean Gunn’s role is yet to be confirmed.

During the SAG-AFTRA strike, Brosnahan and Corenswet’s casting was revealed. Now, with the strike over and ‘Superman: Legacy’ production about to begin, Brosnahan shared insights into Corenswet’s fight training in Atlanta. At the Critics Choice awards, she discussed her preparation for Lois Lane, drawing inspiration from journalist friends for newsroom dynamics. Brosnahan plans to bring a unique twist to the character while staying true to the source material, promising a feisty and marvelous portrayal of Lois Lane.

The upcoming movie, ‘Superman: Legacy,’ helmed by James Gunn and produced by Peter Safran, delves into a youthful iteration of Superman as a journalist. The narrative follows Superman’s quest to reconcile his Kryptonian roots with his human upbringing in Smallville, Kansas. Gunn and Safran view it as the authentic inception of the DC Universe. Gunn, appointed co-CEO of DC Studios in November 2022, prioritized Superman, culminating in the announcement of a new film scheduled for release on July 11, 2025.

Taking cues from the comic book ‘All-Star Superman,’ Gunn enlists David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan for the roles of Superman and Lois Lane. Filming is slated to commence in March 2024 at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, with an anticipated wrap-up in July. The movie will introduce characters from the Authority and other superheroes, with Nathan Fillion portraying Guy Gardner, a Green Lantern.
