Red Notice Had The Biggest Opening In Netflix Film History

Turns out the biggest budget for a Netflix movie ever was worth it.
Red Notice, a $200 million original Netflix film starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot, had the biggest opening day in the history of the streaming service, as Gadot confirmed on her social media accounts. Other members of cast and crew did the same while we were writing this, but we saw it first from her. Although we couldn’t find specific numbers, this first result most likely just increased the chances for the potential sequel.
Red Notice is a heist action comedy. Dwayne Johnson plays FBI agent John Hartley, while Reynolds and Gadot play rival criminals that Johnson’s character wants to put in handcuffs. Official synopsis:
The high-flying adventure that ensues takes the trio around the world, across the dance floor, trapped in a secluded prison, into the jungle and, worst of all for them, constantly into each other’s company.
The movie received negative reviews from the critics and mixed to favorable reviews from the audience so far. Dwayne Johnson already stated that he would love to make a sequel, and Gadot agreed with him. Ryan Reynolds didn’t reveal if he’s up for the sequel, but considering he announced that he’s taking a break from acting, and all the other projects that Johnson and Gadot will need to do in the future. If Netflix greenlit the sequel, it will probably take some time to assemble this trio again.
The movie is also starring Ritu Arya and Chris Diamantopoulos. Rawson Marshall Thurber wrote and directed the movie.
Red Notice is now available on Netflix.
