Reports Suggest the MCU Has Already Begun Adapting Daredevil’s ‘Devil’s Reign’ Storyline – Several Projects Ago

We’re just a few months away from the release of Daredevil: Born Again. The show will bring back familiar characters, including Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock (Daredevil), Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, Elden Henson as Foggy, and Deborah Ann Woll as Karen.

While we don’t know much about the plot yet, we do know that Kingpin will be the Mayor of New York City and will use his power to get rid of vigilantes and superheroes.

We also know that Daredevil’s villain Muse will play a big part in making the show darker and more violent, which is likely why it’s rated TV-MA.

Recently, Vincent D’Onofrio was asked if he would be interested in adapting the Devil’s Reign storyline.

In this storyline, Daredevil faces powerful enemies trying to take over New York City. Kingpin, now the mayor, uses his power to make life harder for Daredevil and other heroes. Daredevil struggles to protect the city while also being a target himself.

D’Onofrio had an interesting answer to the question:

That’s a very interesting question. I cannot answer that because we have a new season coming out of Daredevil. I’m sure you get it. Otherwise, I would just flap my lips for the next thirty minutes and it would be so much fun, but that’s not happening.

Set leaks from when the show was reshooting suggest that Kingpin will definitely create his own anti-vigilante task force, further supporting the idea that the MCU is already heading down the Devil’s Reign storyline path.

A recent update from industry insider Alex Perez, known for his reliable track record, claims that the Devil’s Reign adaptation has already begun in the MCU with Echo and Hawkeye.

The good news is—well, good rumors—that the Devil’s Reign story will continue after Secret Wars and the supposed universe reboot, and it will be tied to the upcoming Spider-Man films.
