Rockstar Games Officially Announced A New GTA Online Expansion

Rockstar Games officially announced a new expansion for Grand Theft Auto Online – The Contract. This story-driven expansion is set five years after the events of the Grand Theft Auto 5 single-player campaign. Rockstar also announced that this expansion will be free.

The Contract will feature one of the GTA5 protagonists – Franklin Clinton. Five years after the events of GTA5, Franklin is now running ‘F. Clinton & Partner’ – an agency that’s offering particular solutions for Los Santos’ celebrities and other elite. And although Franklin enjoys this new business, he admits he misses getting his hands dirty.

Rockstar Games revealed the official trailer of the expansion, where we see the famous GTA5 character again. Gotta admit it was great hearing his voice again. You can check the official trailer down below:

In the years since he and his accomplices knocked over the Union Depository, renowned Los Santos hustler Franklin Clinton has been making moves of his own. Introducing The Contract, a new GTA Online story coming December 15 – featuring Dr. Dre, new music, and more.

The expansion will also feature Dr. Dre, a rapper who composed the new music for the game. The player will play with their GTA Online character that will meet Franklin through Lamar Davis, and the player’s task will be to take Franklin’s business on another level. How? By meeting a new client – Dr. Dree himself – and helping him retrieve his lost songs and unreleased new music. The player can do these tasks solo, or with a crew.

Grand Theft Auto 5 was first released in September 2013, and to this day it remained the latest GTA game Rockstar released. Many fans are asking and wondering what’s happening with GTA6 and is Rockstar even working on it, but it seems Rockstar is still focused on updating GTA Online and we’re gonna need to wait for who knows how long for a new single-player game. GTA 5 will be re-released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in March 2022.

Grand Theft Auto Online The Contract will be available on December 15.

Lukas is also a big fan of four fantasy multimedia franchises; The Wizarding World, A Song of Ice and Fire, The Witcher, and The Lord of the Rings. He calls them "the four rulers of the fantasy genre." He loves to write about anything spawned from those franchises (books, games, movies...), as well as anything branded with the Marvel or DC logo. Video games and their adaptations are also something he follows faithfully since he's a big fan of story-driven single-player games like Assassin's Creed, The Last of Us, Uncharted, etc. His favorite video game ever is Red Dead Redemption 2.
