Rumor: MCU to Be Rebooted by Feige Following ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’

The MCU has been facing challenges over the past few months, marked by a noticeable decline in the quality of released content. Strategies that once raked in billions in profit are now faltering. ‘Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania’ experienced a significant failure, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ found success but with an underwhelming opening, and Disney+ shows are facing heavy criticism for their lack of direction, resulting in a dwindling audience interest. The recently projected numbers for ‘The Marvel’ Box Office echo a similar narrative, with the movie expected to lag almost a billion dollars behind its predecessor.

Joanna Robinson, in her book ‘The Reign of Marvel Studios’ and on the podcast ‘The Watch,’ has made some bold assertions about the future trajectory of the MCU.

Recent reports indicate a significant revamp for Daredevil, with new directors and writers taking charge. Executives deemed the legal procedural drama they were developing as dull and not true to the source material.

Joanna Robinson also uncovered Kevin Feige’s potential intentions to incorporate ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ as the grand finale of Phase 6.

“We have a quote from Kevin Feige sort of implying… that like Secret Wars will serve as a soft reboot in which they can prune everything. That’s not to use a Loki-ism. Prune everything that’s not working and just keep what is [working], or bring back people you thought were gone forever.” 

The details of the ‘Secret Wars’ premise remain elusive, but it seems logical for it to serve as a reboot. The MCU is becoming increasingly crowded with major players, especially with the potential inclusion of X-Men and Fantastic Four.

Recent rumors suggest a change in the writing team for both ‘Kang Dynasty’ and ‘Secret Wars,’ and there’s buzz that ‘Deadpool 3’ will directly tie into the events of ‘Secret Wars.’ This strongly indicates a significant focus on multiverse and timeline exploration.

As it stands, ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is slated to bring the Multiverse Saga to a close on May 7, 2027.
