Rumors Reveal Setting for ‘Fantastic Four’ as Film Receives Filming Date Update
Since the announcement of ‘The Fantastic Four’ reboot, fans have eagerly awaited Marvel’s first family on-screen. We’re closely monitoring all updates about the movie.
Recently, the release date and cast were revealed. Pedro Pascal will portray MCU’s new Reed Richards, while Vanessa Kirby will play Sue Storm. Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn will take on the roles of The Thing and the Human Torch, respectively.
Not much is known about the movie’s plot, but speculation from fans and industry insiders suggests it may be set in the past. Some reports even mention the inclusion of a young Franklin Richards. However, notable insider Alex Perez recently posted that the ‘Fantastic Four’ will be set in an alternate reality. This idea makes sense as it provides a straightforward explanation for why the team wasn’t present during past threats like Thanos and other major dangers to Earth and the Universe.
Perez also confirmed that filming will begin in August.
The story of the ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot began in December 2017 when Disney announced plans to acquire 21st Century Fox, granting Marvel Studios control over properties like Marvel’s first family and X-Men. The acquisition was finalized in 2019, leading to initial plans for a reboot.
In the same year, Feige revealed that a reboot was in the works, but it wasn’t until three years later that we learned Wats was set to direct. However, in 2022, Wats departed the project, replaced by Shankman in September 2022. Due to various delays and the SAG-AFTRA strikes, production had to be rescheduled for January 2024 in London, but even that date was missed. The entire cast was confirmed just last month.
‘The Fantastic Four’ is set to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
