Rumors Reveal the Source of Sling Ring Seen in the ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Trailer

The ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ trailer just came out and fans are thrilled. It revealed some cameos and variants we can expect in the movie, including a neat reference to the comics (Giant-Man’s Head). There’s a scene where Deadpool & Wolverine seem to be using Strange’s Sling Ring, presumably to escape.

A Sling Ring is a small mystical ring worn on two fingers that can create a dimensional gateway to another location or dimension. It’s mainly used by Doctor Strange and other mystical masters in the MCU, so how did Deadpool get his hands on it?

Well, Deadpool probably swiped it from someone else. According to Alex Perez from Cosmic Circus, Cassandra Nova might have taken it from a version of Doctor Strange who was the Sorcerer Supreme in that reality.

Many fans thought Wong might appear in the movie, but Perez’s explanation seems more likely, especially considering Cassandra’s history of violence and genocide in the comics.

The next big question is, where are Deadpool & Wolverine headed? Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait for the movie to find out.

In the film, Deadpool is recruited by the TVA to prevent his reality from collapsing, leading him back to crime-fighting. He’ll try to persuade Wolverine to join him, but it seems Wolverine isn’t too keen, judging from the trailer. The movie will introduce Cassandra Nova as the main villain and continue the Multiversal Theme of the MCU.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2024, as part of Phase Five of the MCU.
