Saitama vs. God: Who Would Win?
Were it not for the protagonist, Saitama, One-Punch Man would probably not be as popular. On the other hand, we have one of the franchise’s strongest characters – God. But who is stronger between the two? Who would win in a fight between Saitama and God?
Although Saitama has yet to face the enigmatic character known as God, he would probably be able to defeat him as well. Namely, we do not know much about God, but we do know a lot about Saitama and as far as we have come to understand, the main point of One-Punch Man is for Saitama to be the invincible protagonist, which implies that he would be able to defeat God as well.
Now that you have the short version of the answer, the rest of the article is going to be divided into three sections, with the first two introducing the characters, their powers, and their abilities. In the end, we’re going to give our final verdict and explanation on why Saitama would ultimately be able to defeat God in a direct fight.
Saitama and his powers
Saitama is the protagonist of One Punch-Man and the strongest character in the series. Until now, no enemy has been able to hurt him in any way, and almost no enemy is capable of surviving a single serious blow. A few enemies have survived blows from him, such as any human he has hit (obviously with no killing intent), and Boros, who Saitama empathized with and tempered his strength to give Boros an exciting and satisfying fight.
Saitama’s only power is that his body is far beyond human limits, allowing him to achieve amazing physical feats. His strength is so great that he greatly outshines even artificial beings specifically designed or bred for superhuman combat, such as the mechanical beings or mutated warriors of the House of Evolution.
Since no enemy has ever posed to be a real challenge for Saitama, the upper limit of his strength is probably even higher than it currently seems. While his power is only limited to intense human characteristics (Saitama cannot fly, fire energy blasts, or perform any supernatural feats), such superhuman abilities make up for the lack of variety in his powers.
The origin of Saitama’s immense strength is mysterious and unclear. Although he tells everyone that he obtained incredible power from him through mere physical training, no one believes him at all. According to Saitama, after a year and a half of 100 daily push-ups, sit-ups, and squats plus 10km daily running, he had reached a certain level of superhuman strength.
This training was apparently so intense for Saitama that he sometimes felt like he might die, and he claims it was what caused all of his hair to suddenly fall out. Apparently, he continued to train him for another year and a half before beginning his career as a hero.
Genos believes that Saitama does not really know or understand how he gained the power from him, and hopes to learn the secret by being trained by him and observing him, while Dr. Genus believes that by following such a demanding training regime Saitama managed to remove his Limiter.
It should be noted that Saitama would complete all parts of his training one after another without interruption, and was fighting monsters that appeared during that time, which would have made completing it more difficult than one would normally expect. Despite his incredible physical prowess, he can be outmatched by people with skills in some areas outside of combat, such as when he was outmatched by Bang in Rock, Paper, Scissors.
In addition, he also seems to have a normal human appetite, as he lost to Genos in a spicy noodle eating contest and despite his immeasurable speed and reflexes, he lacks the accuracy to kill even a single mosquito or put on a helmet before being hit by a bug. toy hammer or holding such an object before your opponent can take cover.
God and his powers
An enigmatic entity known as God by the Homeless Emperor, Psykos and referred to as “he” by Blast, is a mysterious character that has yet to fully appear in One-Punch Man.
Not much is known about the full extent of his abilities, but it can be assumed that he is possibly one of the most powerful characters in the entire series, due to his ability to bestow power strong enough to make a normal man turn into a Dragon-level threat and for causing the appearance of Blast, who had said that he would only appear when humanity is in danger, thanks to his cubes scattered throughout the world.
The enigmatic entity is capable of granting supernatural powers to individuals. He gave the Homeless Emperor the incredible power to summon energy spheres similar to small suns that explode on contact and create huge flames and explosions. He also gave Psykos and Orochi a huge power boost during their fusion, enough to take on Tatsumaki at his full power and increase their attack power on a continental scale.
Apparently, God is also able to grant powers to people who touch the mysterious cubes and then manifest his wishes; However, if they are not worthy to be given that power, they will face confiscation. He is also capable of recovering the powers granted along with the lives of the bearers. He was able to enter the mind of the Homeless Emperor and communicate with him.
He was also able to freely change the appearance of the projection of him in the Emperor’s mind. God can mentally communicate with anyone who touches one of the mystery cubes. He first uses telepathy to communicate with Flashy Flash, Saitama, Manako, and Blast.
Saitama vs. God: Who wins?
And now for the most important and interesting section of our article – the analysis. Here, we are going to use what we have found out about these two characters and analyze how all these facts would (or would not) help them in a fight against each other. Let us continue.
The character of God is still a big enigma in the world of One-Punch Man. We know some details about the character, but a lot of his story is still unknown, especially his powers and skills. We do know that he can give powers to characters, but we do not know whether he can take them away; on top of that, we actually don’t know whether God gave Saitama his powers or not.
What we do know is that Saitama is supposed to be the strongest character in the whole series and that fact seems to be fixed and unchangeable. Whether God will be able to defeat Saitama is a mystery, but knowing the concept of the series, we don’t think he will. One-Punch Man is full of humor and is such a great series that giving it such a serious note wouldn’t make sense. In light of that, Saitama being more powerful than God himself would make perfect sense.
