During Disney+ Day 2021, it was announced that Zeb Wells would be the writer and executive producer for an upcoming animated ‘Marvel Zombies’ TV series on Disney+. This series is a continuation of the universe introduced in the ‘What If…?’ episode titled ‘What If… Zombies!?’.

At San Diego Comic-Con 2022, it was revealed that the series would carry a TV-MA rating and is scheduled to premiere in 2024. In an interview on October 8, 2022, Zeb Wells disclosed that the first season would consist of four episodes. On November 28, 2023, Iman Vellani confirmed her participation, voicing Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel as one of the main characters.

In the latest rumors, there is speculation that the fan-favorite Moon Knight will also make an appearance in the series, not as Marc Spector but as one of the variants.

It’s no secret that Marvel Zombies will feature a lineup of zombified heroes, and the glimpse we got in the finale of ‘What If…?’ Season 2, showcasing Zombie Scarlet Witch, gives us a preview of what’s in store. With the series being rated TV-MA, expectations are high for Moon Knight to be presented in all his gory glory without any restraint, a departure from what was previously limited even in his standalone show.
