Spy x Family: Here’s Where Loid Meet Yor Before Creating Their Fake Family!
The relationship between Loid and Yor is one of the most interesting aspects of the globally popular Spy×Family anime and manga. While their professional relationship is well known and is the main narrative point of the series, the evolution of their personal feelings towards each other is also a question that is the focus of the series’ fans. In that aspect, we can confirm that people always want to know more about them, which inspired this article. In it, we will reveal to you how and when Loid met Yor before the two of them created their fake family.
Loid and Anya met in a boutique by chance, and they agreed to help each other
The story of how Loid met Yor actually has a lot to do with Loid’s work as a spy for Westalis, so to explain the circumstances of their first encounter, we have to tell you about Loid’s work first, which is very interesting per se, so we hope you’ll have fun reading the introduction.
Twilight, who is better known as Loid Forger, is often composed and respectful. Unexpected events, such as learning that he must send his wife and child on a mission, can make him feel uneasy, but he eventually becomes more composed. Everything he does is evaluated in light of his goals; for instance, when adopting a child, his mission-related usefulness is considered.
Twilight is a master spy and WISE’s best agent. He is an expert at passing for other people and posing as them. He is also nimble and proficient in battle.
Not much is known about his private life. We know that he actually gave up his whole life to serve Westalis, as the Ostanian army is responsible for the tragedy that struck him when he was a child; we know that his hometown was destroyed and that he was left an orphan when his mother was killed.
As a child, he also met Franky Franklin, an Ostanian deserter, and they became close friends. Not long after that, he became a spy for Westalis and received the codename Twilight. Even Loid Forger is just a made-up name and is one of his many identities (if you remember, we first meet him as Edgar), and not much is known about his private life.
At one point, he was assigned as a spy to Ostania, but in order to make the story more believable, he was “transformed” into a single father and was given Anya to take care of; officially, his wife was dead. But, while he did take care of Anya, the situation wasn’t that easy, and Loid soon realized that he would need help, i.e., that Anya would need a mother, at least for the show, as the situation was becoming somewhat suspicious.
At one moment, Franky pointed out that Anya’s appearance was too peculiar, so Loid took her to a boutique to find her some better clothes. In the meantime, after disguising Franky as Anya’s mother failed (because the school Anya was supposed to enroll in demanded the presence of both parents for the interview, so Loid had to find a mother for Anya), the two of them collected data on all unmarried women in Berlint in the hope of finding a prospective “wife” for Loid and a “mother” for Anya. But, getting back to the boutique scene.
As we said, while searching for a “partner,” Loid took Anya to get some new clothes, as it was pivotal that she got enrolled in the elite school. While the two of them were there, Loid met a lovely woman named Yor Briar; at that moment, Loid had no idea that Yor was actually the assassin called Thorn Princess. While there, Loid finds out that Yor is actually looking for someone to pretend to be her boyfriend so she can go to her co-worker’s party.
This was convenient for Loid, who told Yor that he would help her if she went with him to the school and pretended to be Anya’s mother. And she agreed. And this is actually how the two of them met.
It was pure chance, but the two benefited from that encounter significantly, and the core relationships in the story were thus established. In the next section, we will tell you how this convenient encounter ultimately led to the establishment of their fake family.
Why did they decide to become a pretend family?
So, we know that the two of them agreed to become a “couple,” but it did not all go as smoothly as you might suspect. Namely, on the day of Yor’s party, Loid had an urgent mission that involved stealing some treasure. As he could not abandon the mission, he ended up being late for Yor’s party, but he did not fail to honor his agreement, so it seemed as if Yor was not cross with him. But another strange thing happened.
Namely, when he arrived, he accidentally introduced himself as Yor’s husband, which was an error on his part, but it turned out to be even better than he planned. The marriage revelation made Camilla, one of Yor’s “colleagues”, jealous.
She tried to imply that Yor was doing “special deliveries” to clients (which were, in fact, her assassination missions, but Camilla could not know that). Still, Loid simply commended her on her dedication, as she was working hard to support her younger brother.
They soon leave, and just when Loid is about to propose an extension of their original agreement, they are attacked by a group of thugs whom they managed to get rid of. Moments later, Yor proposed to Loid that they should get married as part of their original agreement. Although this was in line with what Loid wanted to propose, he was shocked, and he almost fell, but he agreed, as it was the best way to make the cover work.
He proposed to her officially, and soon, the two of them were married. The documents were forged and pre-dated a year before so that when they came to the Eden Academy, it seemed that the two of them had already been a couple for some time now. And that is how the two of them ended up being married and how they ultimately ended up creating their “fake family.” However, the manga has yet to reveal whether the cover will really be just a cover or if the two of them will become a real couple.
