Black Panther is one of the most powerful Marvel superheroes. He was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and made his first appearance in Fantastic Four #52 in 1966. Black Panther is the king of the African nation Wakanda and has superhuman strength, speed, agility, stamina, and reflexes. He is also an expert fighter and strategist. 

There are many versions of this superhero that were introduced to us over the years and each of them is special in its own way. However, some versions are stronger than others, and in this article, you can find a ranked list of the strongest Black Panther versions.

20. K’Shamba ( Black Panther 2099 )

We’ll start this list with K’Shamba. Black Panther in 2099 known as K’Shamba is the version of Black Panther we find the weakest one among the ones on this list. The reason for this is that he did not take the Heart-Shaped Herb that was traditionally consumed by the new ruler and the heir to the mantle of the Black Panther. Because of that, he did not possess enhanced physical abilities. Nevertheless, he has exceptional martial art skills and is at the peak of human strength as he even managed to defeat Doctor Doom.

The show What If showed us what would’ve happened if Yondu picked up T’Challa instead of Peter Quill and the result was very amusing. Apparently, T’Challa would then become Star-Lord. He would have access to Ravagers’ weapons and also possessed his reflexes and fighting skills. However, he did not take the Heart Shaped herb. Even so, he was so powerful that he was chosen to be one of the Guardians of the Multiverse. This version is sneakier and silver-tongued than other versions of the Black Panther.

This version of Black Panther is a member of the Exiles, a group of heroes that travel across universes in order to provide help. This T’Challa goes by the alias King. This Black Panther comes from the Old West, he is a gunslinger and uses vibranium bullets. He is also at the peak of his human strength with exceptional reflexes. His unusual appearance is not something we are used to from Black Panther, but that does not change the fact that he is a fierce warrior.

After the combat that left T’Challa severely injured, he was brought to the Weapon X program to heal. It was the same program that turned Logan into Wolverine giving him adamantium claws and skeletons. After the procedure, this Black Panther had real retractable claws and his reflexes and strength were at the peak of his abilities. He was later used by S.H.I.E.L.D. as an assassin. However, the procedure left him unstable, and he could not talk. Anyhow, there are far more powerful versions of the Black Panther than this one.

Azzuri is T’Challa’s and Shuri’s grandfather and he ruled Wakanda during World War II. He fought many enemies and Red Skull was one of them. The Red Skull wanted the vibrainum because he was sure it would give him a huge advantage against his opponents. Azzuri possessed classic abilities that Black Panther does after he takes the Heart-Shaped Herb. He is at the peak of his strength with enhanced reflexes and fighting skills. He also possessed knowledge of the entire Black Panther lineage. He has the power of necromancy and can control the dead.

This version of Black Panther had the strength and ferocity of a literal tiger. This version of the Black Panther actually got Spider-Man’s abilities. He also went through a process of mutation and grew an extra four arms which led him to resemble a lot to a spider. His abilities as Black Panther remained intact and to add to them he also gained new abilities such as wall-crawling and web-swinging. This version of the Black Panther was not long-lived, but it was very powerful nevertheless.

Kasper Cole was a New York City police officer and he shortly became Black Panther when he found the Black Panther suit in an Evidence Locker in the police station he worked. He used the suit and became a vigilante who sought justice against the criminals on New York’s streets. He took a synthetic version of the Heart Shaped herb that was given to him by Killmonger and gained the power of the Black Panther. After that, he became a defender of Brooklyn known as the White Tiger.

12. T’Chaka

T’Chaka is T’Challa’s father and he ruled Wakanda and wore the mantle of Black Panther before T’Challa was crowned King. He was a wise warrior and leader that tried his best to keep Wakanda’s resources hidden from the rest of the world in order to prevent dangers that would emerge if their technology would fall into the wrong hands. He is known as the leader who had to make difficult decisions in the name of Wakanda such as killing his own brother due to treason. He was also a very skilled fighter and warrior.

11. Killmonger

When T’Chaka killed his own brother, he left a kid behind. That kid was his nephew who would later grow up and become thirsty for revenge. After T’Chaka’s death, Erik Killmonger challenged T’Challa to ritual combat where the winner takes the position of a ruler of Wakanda. When he defeated T’Challa, he was given a Heart-Shaped herb that granted him the abilities of the Black Panther. Killmonger was a ruthless and very skilled warrior even without the abilities the Herb gave him, but he was even stronger after he took it.

T’Challa’s version of the Black Panther is probably the most famous one. T’Challa took on the mantle of Black Panther after the demise of his father and became the king of Wakanda. His sister Shuri developed several suits for him that gave him the ability to use kinetic energy to his favor among many other abilities. T’Challa is very powerful and had also wielded the Infinity Gauntlet in the comics. T’Challa is considered to be one the most powerful heroes in the MCU, but if we take the comics into consideration, there are stronger versions of the Black Panther.

When she stumbled upon a fight between T’Challa and Rhino who were fighting over the Venom symbiote, the symbiote ended up attaching itself to Ngozi who then not only could walk again but got amazing powers alongside that. She even impressed Dora Milaje who then named her the interim Black Panther. That would mean she had the powers of Venom and Black Panther which made her among the strongest version of Black Panther ever.

2. Ghost Hammer

Ghost Hammer is a version of Black Panther in a War World. This is where various combinations of heroes occurred and the Ghost Panther was born as mentioned before in this article. However, Ghost Phanter was then further combined with the Iron Hammer and Ghost Hammer came to be. This version of Black Panther was so powerful and destructive as it had the abilities not only of Black Panther but of several other superheroes as well, like Ghost Rider, Iron Man, and Thor. So, it is clear why this version is almost at the top of this list.

1. Star Panther


No. 1 on this list is the version of the Black Panther called Star Panther. When Multiversal Killmonger killed T’Challa’s whole family, T’Challa stood up against Killmonger, but he could not defeat him and was thrown into a star. However, Ghost Rider saved him and after that incident, he emerged most powerful than ever. He now had the ability of supersonic flight and his strength levels are compared with Superman’s.
