The movie “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story” is a documentary released in 2024. It’s about Christopher Reeve’s life after his accident and how he fought for disability rights. It’s a collaboration between British and American filmmakers, co-produced by Words+Pictures, Passion Pictures, and Misfits Entertainment, and distributed by Warner Bros Pictures.

The film premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival on January 19, 2024, and was later acquired by Warner Bros. Discovery for $15 million. James Gunn from DC Studios praised the documentary, saying it deeply moved him.

In 2024, at CinemaCon, James Gunn announced that the documentary would hit theaters sometime in September 2024. This makes it the first movie under the DC Studios Label. The original 1978 ‘Superman’ movie, starring Christopher Reeve, told Superman’s origin story from Krypton to his heroic deeds in Metropolis. Alongside Reeve were actors like Marlon Brando, Gene Hackman, and Margot Kidder. ‘Superman’ was a major success, with a budget of $55 million and worldwide box office earnings of $300 million. Christopher Reeve’s performance and John Williams’s musical score received widespread acclaim.
