The End of a Legend: First Look at ‘Death of the Silver Surfer’

Big changes are coming for one of Marvel’s most famous heroes. This summer, the Silver Surfer’s journey will come to an end in a new comic called Death of the Silver Surfer (2025), written by Greg Pak and drawn by Sumit Kumar.

In this story, the Silver Surfer, also known as Norrin Radd, faces a threat so strong it could destroy everything he is. He must make a huge choice, one that could either save him or destroy him forever.

Greg Pak shared more details about the story. He said, “Danger is coming from two places, really. An incredibly dangerous, homegrown, human threat from right here on Planet Earth, and a mind-bending cosmic threat unlike anything you’ve seen before.”

The preview for Death of the Silver Surfer #1 shows Norrin Radd looking into the darkness of space while Galactus feeds on another planet. But soon, a terrible new danger forces the Surfer to return to Earth. When he arrives, he finds Earth in ruins after a terrible war. His old friends from Earth race across the broken land to meet him.

Death of the Silver Surfer #1 is written by Greg Pak, with art by Sumit Kumar and a cover by Dike Ruan. It will be available on June 11.
