5. The Gourmet Detective (2015)
The Gourmet Detective (2015) is the first of this series. It introduces Maggie Price as a Police Detective in San Francisco police under the homicide division; she is a workaholic tough lady. Being recently divorced, she lives with her mother and thirteen years old daughter.
However, a casual date turns into an encounter with the Gourmet Detective, Henry Ross. This detective portrays himself as a charming and confident man with a refined taste for food.
However, when an investigative journalist dies at a restaurant owned by Henry’s friend, Maggie Price and Henry Ross are paired to investigate the journalist’s death. Of course, every guest, including Henry Ross, is a suspect. Still, he is paired up with Detective Maggie to find the culprit behind the murder since he knows everything about the food industry town.
4. Detective; A Healthy Place To Die (2015)
After being forced to take a break, Detective Maggie Price unwillingly accompanies Henry to a spa resort. Here, Henry and other chefs present their work at a conference. Also, Henry meets journalist Kathleen Evans who has something to tell him, but she goes missing.
Again, Maggie and Henry must work together quietly to apprehend the unsuspecting culprit, leading them to a world of secrets, affairs, and scandals.
3. Death Al Dente: A Gourmet Detective Mystery (2016)
Restaurateur Leo and Henry’s friend owns and runs the hottest Italian restaurant in town. But after an ugly incident between Leo and his restaurant star head chef Matteo, Leo does not get along with him. Thus, he asks Henry to find a new head chef for him.
But while Henry searches for a new chef head, Leo ends up dead after a break-in at the restaurant. As a result, tensions between them increase. Once again, Henry calls Maggie to help start an investigation.
On the mission to find out the absolute truth, both are forced to question their feelings for each other. Also, where will the case lead them to?
2. Detective: Eat, Drink, and Be Buried
After the events of the previous episode, Henry and Maggie start to be with each other. However, after three months together, Henry and Maggie attend Henry’s friend and wealthy businessman David’s birthday party, where Henry is catering food. Although everything is going fine during the party, and everyone is enjoying it, suddenly a fake gun kills one of David’s four children.
Henry and Maggie start their investigation to prevent any further danger to the other family members in the party, and everyone in the party is a potential suspect.
1. Roux the Day: A Gourmet Detective Mystery (2020)
Now, Henry is employed to find out and purchase a lost book for a long time and a precious recipe book. But Henry and Maggie soon find themselves in a murder mystery. This time, a treasured book with hidden secrets with terrible consequences is in the open and they have to find it.
Do you need to watch Gourmet Detective movies in order?
Each Gourmet detective film is linked to the previous one and continues the narrative from the previous film’s conclusion. Additionally, each film is centered on a different incident of crime in which Henry Ross and Maggie are paired up. Thus, they mostly have to investigate with some references from the previous film. Therefore, for better understanding and enjoyment, I advise you to watch the Gourmet Detective movies in order or release.
Will there be more Gourmet Detective movies?
The last Gourmet Detective movie is Roux the Day: A Gourmet Detective Mystery which was released in 2020. However, at the moment, there is no sign of Hallmark producing a 6th film of the series installment.
