The Man Behind ‘Daredevil: Born Again’s Jaw-Dropping Action Has a Very Specific MCU Dream Team in Mind

The MCU’s street-level corner has never felt more alive. The second season of ‘Daredevil: Born Again‘ premiered on Disney+ on March 24, 2026, running eight episodes through May 5, with Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio reprising their roles as Matt Murdock and Kingpin. With Season 3 already in production and ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘ heading to theaters this summer, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the question of when these sprawling Marvel worlds will finally collide is louder than ever.

The so-called “Team Red” fantasy, a crossover uniting Daredevil, Deadpool, and Spider-Man, has become one of the most persistent wishes in the MCU fan community. All three characters are now firmly part of the same cinematic universe, with Deadpool’s full MCU induction arriving via ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, making the logistical argument for a crossover harder to dismiss with every passing year. The appetite for it is enormous, and now a key creative voice from behind the camera is adding his name to the wishlist.

Philip J. Silvera, the action director and supervising stunt coordinator of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, has publicly stated his desire to see Daredevil, Deadpool, and Spider-Man unite in a future MCU project, according to a Forbes interview. The wish carries unusual weight coming from Silvera, because few people in Hollywood have actually worked in the trenches of all three worlds. His credits span the original Netflix ‘Daredevil’ across both of its seasons, the first ‘Deadpool’ film as stunt coordinator, and now both seasons of ‘Born Again’, giving him a rare, firsthand understanding of how distinct each character’s action DNA really is.

The dream of a red-suited trio has been echoed by the actors who wear those suits, too. Charlie Cox was asked about a potential “Team Red” movie at Rose City Comic-Con, where his response was a playful “I’ll have to check my schedule,” which fans took as the kind of non-denial denial that tends to age well. Tom Holland, for his part, has stated his hope that a way is found for Spider-Man and Daredevil to team up, making it clear the conversation extends well beyond the fandom itself.

The road to making it happen, however, is complicated. According to The Cosmic Circus insider Alex Perez, a film pairing Spider-Man with the street-level heroes appears to be the most plausible route, as the licensing arrangement between Marvel and Sony makes it very difficult for Spider-Man to show up in Disney+ series like ‘Born Again’. Perez has also noted that whatever form the crossover takes, a movie with Spider-Man alongside the Defenders seems the most realistic scenario, though the timing remains unclear.

What makes the moment feel both tantalizing and frustrating is that the pieces have never been better positioned. A third season of ‘Born Again’ is already filming, most likely targeting a release in early 2027, keeping Matt Murdock’s story very much in motion. Meanwhile, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ swings into theaters on July 31, 2026, and already appears to weave in notable elements from both the Netflix ‘Daredevil’ era and the Disney+ continuation, suggesting Marvel is quietly laying groundwork for something bigger.

Whether the studio follows through on what its own creative talent is dreaming about out loud remains to be seen, but hearing it from the person literally responsible for choreographing how these characters move and fight adds a delicious extra layer of credibility to the fantasy. If a Daredevil, Deadpool, and Spider-Man team-up ever does come together, would you want Silvera running the action, or do you think the tonal gap between those three worlds is too wide to bridge?
