The Mandalorian debuted in November 2019 as the launching series for Disney+. The series received critical acclaim, and fans called it a fresh start for the Star Wars universe, especially after Disney’s sequel trilogy which wasn’t received as good as expected, regardless of the amazing result at the box office. The second season of The Mandalorian has also set up the spin-off series The Book of Boba Fett, and Mando also made an appearance in the spin-off. That way, The Book of Boba Fett opened the way for the upcoming third season of The Mandalorian.
Pedro Pascal returns as the titular character, Giancarlo Esposito will return as Moff Gideon, Katee Sackhoff reprises the role of Bo-Katan Kryze, and Carl Weathers, who will direct one of the episodes in Season 3, returns as Greef Karga.
The return of the old characters is definitely something that’s expected, especially after so many special guest stars in The Book of Boba Fett. We are expecting to see characters like Ahsoka, played by Rosario Dawson, who is also set to return for her own spin-off series next year, as well as young Luke Skywalker, and Baby Yoda (yes, we are still calling him like that).
The Mandalorian Season 3 will premiere on Disney+ in 2023.
