With every Marvel fan in the world excited for the premiere of Spider-Man: No Way Home later this week, and the newest episode of Hawkeye which will drop on Disney+ on Wednesday, we presumed that Marvel won’t release any huge news regarding other projects, and when we say other projects, we mean those that are coming next year. Projects that are close, but not as close as Spider-Man and Hawkeye.

Still, this first poster for the upcoming movie Thor: Love and Thunder allegedly leaked on Twitter yesterday. And although the tweet was taken down soon after, the fans immediately started sharing their excitement for the fourquel (if that’s even a word). The poster showed the new costume of Chris Hemsworth’s titular hero, as well as the alleged first look on Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster, who is set to become Mighty Thor in the movie. But now, looks like it doesn’t even matter if the poster leaked, and it doesn’t matter if the tweet that shared it was taken down, because the poster was fake, according to the director Taika Waititi.

Taika Waititi, an Oscar-winning director who directed Thor: Ragnarok, and now he returned to helm Love and Thunder, wrote a tweet in which he says the mentioned poster is so bad that would actually like for it to be official. Although he said it through a joke (and jokes are like his second language), Waititi revealed the poster isn’t official and fans shouldn’t treat it as such.

The poster isn’t legit, so we still need to wait for the official first look at the upcoming movie. Regardless, it would be great if characters would look at least a bit like they do on this fake poster. Not going to lie, this fake poster actually looked really promising.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder is starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, and most of the Guardians of the Galaxy cast. The movie will hit theaters in July 2022.
