‘Tokyo Ghoul’ Reveals New Illustrations as Part of Its 10th-Anniversary Project

Sui Ishida’s Tokyo Ghoul originally ran from 2011 to 2018, with the first part of the manga – titled Tokyo Ghoul – running from 2011 to 2014, and the second part – titled Tokyo Ghoul:re – running from 2014 to 2018. The whole manga was collected in a total of 30 volumes, with some additional stories also present.

Of course, as one of the best-selling manga of all time, Tokyo Ghoul received an anime adaptation, which was mostly successful, despite a lot of controversies that plagued the production and the broadcast.

As part of the anime’s 10th anniversary celebrations, the producers have announced a special anime project and now, a series of new illustrations for the project have been released.

The 10th-anniversary project was announced a while ago, and while we still don’t have any precise information, it seems that something is afoot, as we can deduce from these new images:

As you can see, the characters are the focus of these illustrations and it seems that they are going to get a slight visual overhaul; it’s the same style, but the drawings look clearer and better than 10 years ago.

The characters in question are Ken Kaneki, Touka Kirishima, Shuu Tsukiyama, Juuzou Suzuya, and somewhat surprising – perhaps – Uta and Ayato Kirishima. We don’t know why they were picked, but the images look great and we are looking forward for more information.
