Ultimate Wolverine #4 Preview: Blood in the Snow

Marvel’s Ultimate Wolverine series is diving deeper into the gritty, chaotic world of Logan, and the latest issue has him grappling with some serious turmoil. We’re talking about a Wolverine who’s not just fighting enemies but also wrestling with his own mind, caught in a storm of violence and confusion.
The snowy, blood-streaked setting adds a haunting vibe to his struggle, as he questions everything he thought he knew about his creators, the Maker’s Council.
This story takes a darker turn as Logan’s confrontation with familiar faces—Kitty Pryde and Gambit—leaves him shaken. He’s not himself, and the people around him are starting to notice. His heart rate’s spiking, his brain’s a mess, and he’s lashing out in ways that make everyone nervous.
There’s even talk of sedating him to keep things under control, but that’s not going down well with everyone. Some are desperate to figure out what’s happening to him, while others are just trying to survive the chaos he’s causing.
The comic, ‘Ultimate Wolverine #4’, doesn’t hold back on the tension. Wolverine’s disoriented state has him asking a big question—who is Logan, really? And that’s not all. The issue, set to hit shelves on April 16, 2025, throws in some serious stakes with a mysterious ‘chamber’ and a heavy dose of phenobarbital to knock Logan out.
The team around him is scrambling—where’s Dr. Prostovitch, and why are there no guards? It’s a high-stakes mess, and the snowy forest, filled with eerie wolves, only makes things more intense.
This issue is part of Marvel’s Ultimate Universe, a reimagined take on classic characters. Writer Chris Condon is leading the charge, with art by Alessandro Cappuccio and colors by Bryan Valenza.
The cover, a joint effort by Cappuccio and Frank Martin, sets the tone perfectly, while variant covers come from talents like David Aja, Iban Coello, Jesus Aburtov, Leinil Francis Yu, and Romulo Fajardo Jr. Jay Bowen handles design, Michelle Marchese is the assistant editor, and Wil Moss edits, with C.B. Cebulski as editor-in-chief. It’s a stacked team bringing this story to life.
The art captures the raw emotion of the story—think blood-splattered snow, glowing-eyed wolves, and a Wolverine who looks like he’s on the edge of losing it. The dialogue is sharp, with characters shouting over each other as they try to handle the situation.
One moment they’re checking Logan’s vitals, the next they’re yelling about getting him out of there before things get worse. It’s a wild ride, and I can’t wait to see where this series takes Logan next.
