[VIDEO] ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Set Footage Reveals Comic-Accurate Ben Grimm, Exciting Fans with One Key Detail
‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ is one of the most highly anticipated releases in the MCU. Scheduled for release on July 25, 2025, the film is currently being shot at Pinewood Studios in London.
The movie will explore an alternate reality and is set to introduce the Fantastic Four along with several of their most iconic villains to the cinematic universe.
The main cast for ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ has been confirmed for some time: Pedro Pascal will portray Mr. Fantastic, with Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm. Joseph Quinn will take on the role of Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, while Ebon Moss-Bachrach will play Ben Grimm, aka the Thing.
The adaptation of the Thing has been highly anticipated due to the challenges of bringing his unique appearance to life. Overusing prosthetics and makeup could look cheap, while relying solely on CGI could become both costly and problematic.
Recently leaked set footage reveals that MCU’s Ben Grimm will indeed use prosthetics and a costume. The footage appears to show the moment when the actor’s (or body double’s) costume was being adjusted.
A few weeks ago, Bachrach humorously mentioned that he had been studying rocks for his role, and it seems there might have been some truth to his comment. The attention to detail in the costume suggests significant effort has gone into its design. While the character will likely receive some VFX enhancements in the final stages of production, the current look is already impressively comic-accurate. Most fans seem to agree:
