WandaVision, a popular Marvel series about Wanda Maximoff dealing with loss, was praised for its creative storytelling and deep character development. The show’s success led to two spinoffs: Agatha All Along, which recently ended with great reviews, and Vision Quest.
In October 2022, it was announced that Vision Quest was in development, with Jac Schaeffer as head writer and executive producer. By May 2023, Eileen Shim also joined as a writer.
Jac Schaeffer then shifted focus to Agatha All Along, and now Vision Quest is being led by Terry Matalas. With Matalas at the helm, this marks Marvel’s first new live-action TV series in almost two years, signaling a shift in their approach to TV production on Disney+.
Previously, Marvel mainly used a movie-style approach, with directors and creative leaders in charge. Starting in 2022, they shifted to a more traditional TV model, with longer development periods and writer-producers as showrunners.
There have been some major updates recently. Paul Bettany mentioned he will prepare for his role as White Vision by watching Agatha All Along, suggesting the two shows are connected.
Also, James Spader was confirmed to return as Ultron, along with Todd Stashwick, whose role is still unknown. Industry insider Daniel Richtman revealed in his paid newsletter that the Vision Quest cast is complete, and filming will begin in February 2025. This confirms earlier reports that production will start in England in early 2025.
While little is known about the plot, rumors suggest connections to Armor Wars and Wonder Man, particularly in relation to the West Coast Avengers.
The show doesn’t have a specific release date yet, but it is confirmed to arrive on Disney+ sometime in 2026. Have any thoughts? Share them in the comments below!
