Where to Watch Dr.STONE? (Is it on Netflix, Hulu, Crunchyroll, Funimation, Disney+, HBO or Amazon?)

Dr.STONE, is a shōnen manga written by Riichirō Inagaki and drawn by Boichi. It was published in Shūeisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from March 6, 2017 to March 7, 2022. An anime television series adaptation by TMS Entertainment aired between July 5 and December 13, 2019. A second season aired between January 14, 2021 and March 25, 2021. A third season is in production for 2023. In this article, we are going to tell you where you can watch the Dr.STONE anime online.

The only places where you can currently watch Dr.STONE, aside from Japanese television, are Crunchyroll and Funimation. No other major streaming service has the series at this moment, but that might change at some time in the future, although we’re not sure it’s going to happen globally. As for Crunchyroll, the service will offer the first three episodes via the free-with-ads model, but if you want to see the remaining episodes, you’ll have to subscribe to Crunchyroll.

Dr.STONE is has already become a global phenomenon and since the first season premiered in Japan, it has gained a lot of attention and has become a talking point among the otaku communities around the world. In this article, we are going to give you the ultimate guide for watching the anime series online.

Where to watch Dr.STONE?

As of June 2022, Dr.STONE is only available in a limited number of places, or, to be more precise, on just two streaming services – Crunchyroll and Funimation. Crunchyroll will offer the full show with English and other subtitles, as the episodes come out in Japan (simulcast). Although Crunchyroll is now a fully-paid subscription service, it will allow users to stream the first three episodes of Dr.STONE for free, after which you’ll have to buy a subscription.

Funimation also has the series in its library, but Funimation is only for those anime fans that prefer dubbed versions. Other streaming services don’t have Dr.STONE in their libraries, regardless of country or region.

Sadly, the anime is not available for streaming on any other platform, unless you’re In some specific parts of the world.

Is Dr.STONE available on Netflix?

Dr.STONE is actually not available on Netflix, regardless of where you are in the world. Dr.STONE, neither in dubbed nor in subbed format, cannot be watched on Netflix; this shouldn’t come as a surprise, since Netflix doesn’t really invest in older anime series, especially those that have already been licensed by other streaming services. The reason for this is probably related to various licensing reasons.

It might be a little disappointing that a leading network like Netflix didn’t make dubbed episodes Dr.STONE available for streaming, but we assume that it has to do something with the licensing and distribution rights, although we cannot be sure that that is the actual reason.

Netflix is doing a great job in providing its subscribers with great streaming content, but it does have some restrictions in general. So if you live in a country with geographic restrictions, you may not be able to watch some of the content on Netflix even with a full subscription. And yes, in case you were wondering, you can check directly on Netflix to see if your country is geographically restricted.

But, all of that does not matter since an English dub of Dr.STONE is not available on Netflix, regardless of where you are. If you want to watch the show, you’ll just have to look elsewhere.

Is Dr.STONE available on Crunchyroll?

All episodes of the Dr.STONE anime series are and will be available for streaming on Crunchyroll with English subtitles. Crunchyroll currently has all of the episodes that have aired as of the time of writing this article and we’ll just have to wait it out for the third season to premiere to see the new episodes. The dubbed version of the show is likewise available on the platform, although there is a better place to watch the dub (see below).

So, if you want to watch all of the Dr.STONE anime episodes, Crunchyroll is your best option if you ask us.

Is Dr.STONE available on Disney+?

Disney+ does not offer any Dr.STONE content, which is, as you probably know by now, not surprising as Disney+ is generally very conservative when original content created by other studios is concerned, and anime is not just that, it is also direct competition for Disney, who takes pride in its original animated content. On top of that, this kind of content is definitely not compatible with Disney.

However, if you prefer Western animation and maybe some other anime series (although the offer is quite limited), Disney+ offers quite a few of them.

One of these animated series is The Simpsons, which is still very popular with 33 seasons as of December 2021. Some other similar shows, both animated and live-action, that might attract your attention include Gravity FallsThe Mighty Ducks, and the Star Wars series, including the very popular The Mandalorian.

Is Dr.STONE available on Funimation?

Dr.STONE is fully available on Funimation in dubbed format for all fans to enjoy. Whether that’ll be the case with the movie, we don’t know at this moment.

One major issue with Funimation, in general, is that it is not available around the world, so if you want to watch the whole dubbed Dr.STONE series, you’re only able to access it from a limited number of countries.

Is Dr.STONE available on Hulu?

At this moment, Dr.STONE is not available for streaming on Hulu, neither the subbed, nor the dubbed version of the show. Hulu is not one of the major players in the world of streaming, but nonetheless, it has a solid anime library, which is why it’s a bummer that Dr.STONE is not in it.

Hulu is a streaming service that primarily offers live-action shows and movies, but, as we have said, there’s also a lot of anime, although Dr.STONE is, unfortunately, not among the anime in Hulu’s library. Another big issue is that Hulu is not available around the world so there are certain restrictions if you don’t live in the United States.

As you can see, Hulu is not a good place to look for Dr.STONE, as it doesn’t have it in its library, but it wouldn’t be your best pick even if it had it, since the location restrictions on Hulu are large and if you’re a non-US fan, you’d have a lot of trouble with Hulu.

Is Dr.STONE available on HBO Max?

Dr.STONE cannot be streamed on HBO Max either. Namely, the streaming service simply doesn’t have the show among its titles, so if you’re a subscriber and have been looking to see the show, we don’t have any good news for you. HBO Max does have some anime series you can enjoy, but Dr.STONE is not on it.

But, if you actually do have a free trial or an ongoing subscription to HBO Max, you can also watch other great anime shows, some of which are true classics that need to be watched regardless of whether you’re a fan or not.

Luckily, HBO Max has a truly great anime library so fans will definitely find something for themselves if they want to explore other shows aside from Dr.STONE. Some other great anime on HBO Max include Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Death Note, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Re:ZERO.

Is Dr.STONE available on Amazon Prime?

Dr.STONE still isn’t available for streaming on Amazon Prime. This is relatively strange as Amazon Prime has a solid slate of anime on its service, but it seems that Dr.STONE isn’t on it at this moment. This, sadly, also includes Amazon’s non-Prime pay-per-view library, which means that you cannot rent or buy the individual Dr.STONE episodes as well.

Now, as we have said above, what surprised us the most is the fact that Amazon doesn’t even offer the anime episodes for purchase, as it does with a lot of other shows via its pay-per-view model (for example, One Piece or Black Clover). Such series cannot be streamed, but you can buy each episode individually and then own them, so you can watch them anytime you want.

One advantage of the rent or buy option on Amazon is the lack of restriction, either in time or location. Anywhere in the world, you can buy any available season or episode of a show, which is a good thing since some streaming services don’t offer their full slate for all countries. Once rented, you have only a limited amount of time to watch each episode for the same price, whereas with a purchased copy, you have unlimited time.

But, sadly, none of this applies to Dr.STONE, whether you’re an Amazon Prime member or not.
